The case continues in Beyond the Bar Episode 9 as Dr. Choi is worried about her reputation and career. She seeks help from the Yullim Law Firm and meets Hyo-min, Seok-hoon, and Jin-woo.

Byeong-su's family is accusing Dr. Choi of murder, claiming that she knew him from the 2020 incident and let him die intentionally. However, Dr. Choi made it clear to the lawyers that she didn't kill the man.

Back in 2020, she did tell another doctor to let him die if he was dying a natural death, but that was the time she was in rage and frustration. And in the flight, Dr. Choi did everything she could, but couldn't save Byeong-su.

Parallel to this, Na-yeon meets new faces: Choi Yun-geon, a hardworking lawyer with modest credentials, and Mr Lee, a businessman ruined after losing his company Hynic Core to Bluestone Fund. Na-yeon learns that Bluestone invested billions, accused Lee of fraud, seized his firm, and then sold it to an American corporation for massive profit.

She realizes her past demotion at Yullim was connected to this shady deal. This deepens her motive to expose the truth, and she decides to help Mr Lee. Meanwhile, Jin-wook has taken a divorce case to get closer to Min-jeong, as he likes her a lot.

Justice is served in Beyond the Bar Episode 9

After taking on the case, Hyo-min works hard to gather as much information as she can, and learns that Byeong-su had a rare genetic disorder, vEDS, known for sudden and fatal artery ruptures. When she met the government lawyer, he allowed her to take Byeong-su's family history, and Hyo-min then called her friend, Han Seol-ah, who appears to be a doctor.

Seol-ah confirmed that Byeong-su died of aortic dissection, not medical negligence. Since there's nothing suspicious, the case is closed, and Dr. Choi has been proven to be innocent. Hyo-min reflects how justice was served.

The man who once ruined a child's life fell victim to his own body. Since Byeong-su was an abuser, it is explained that everyone was just trying to find justice in his death, as he was someone causing harm in the world.
