Big Brother Season 27 Episode 29 Recap: White Locust elimination turns the house upside down

CBS aired the latest Big Brother Season 27 Episode 29 on September 9, 2025. The episode saw one of the most unexpected and shocking eliminations of the current season so far. The previous week saw Mickey Lee returning home.

After that, BB House had nine remaining housemates: Ashley, Ava, Keanu, Lauren, Morgan, Kelley, Vince, Rachel, and Will. They were invited to the mysterious White Locus Resort. For that, show alum Tyler Crispen navigated them throughout the tasks.

After a series of tasks, it resulted in a shocking elimination. Rachel was evicted from the Big Brother house after she failed to complete a task within the given time.

Big Brother Season 27 Episode 29 Recap: Housemates go through tasks at the Mysterious White Locus Resort, resulting in a shocking eviction

After Mickey's elimination, viewers saw Mastermind interrupting the show host, Julie Chen Moonves. It was to notify housemates about an upcoming invitation to the mysterious White Locus Resort. The twist was that one of the housemates won't be coming back to the BB House.

Keanu revealed the White Locust twist to the rest of the housemates. They were invited for a vacation on a mysterious Mastermind Month of Mayhem. Soon, they arrived at the resort and were notified about the upcoming twist, which would force them to participate in a competition that would test them.

The episode featured Big Brother alum Tyler Crispen as the host for the said competition. He told everyone that one of them would be going home. The first task was to slide three totems on three different tables to "survive" at the resort. After completing the task fastest, Ava won the safety.

However, she had to choose one participant for Mastermind's Maniacal Maze challenge. The first housemate would have 6.5 minutes before choosing the next participant to go through the challenge. Throughout this chain, whoever would be unable to succeed in solving the maze would be sent home.

Also, whichever participant would complete the task would be named the next Head of Household (HOH). Big Brother star Ava had to choose the first competitor for the maze. Rachel had a private chat with her as she wanted to go first. Ava asked the fellow housemates if anyone wanted to volunteer to go first.

There were a few raised hands, including Rachel, Keanu, Lauren, and others. She chose Vince to go first. Vince finished the task and chose Lauren after she agreed to choose Morgan. After Rachel and Morgan learned about it, it didn't sit well with them. While Keanu wanted to go next, Vince chose Lauren.

Lauren chose Morgan to go through the task next. After completing the task, Morgan chose Rachel, who had 3.5 minutes to finish the task. While Morgan was confident that Rachel could go through the task, Rachel struggled to beat the time.

Tyler was also in shock after he witnessed Rachel's performance. Later, when the Mastermind announced Rachel's elimination, because of her performance in the task, everyone was left stunned.

While leaving Big Brother Season 27, Rachel got emotional. She told Tyler that she:

"Tried so hard. None of these newbies ever listened to me."

In the Diary Room, she further confessed:

"I don't win the competition, and I'm out of the game. I'm really disappointed in myself. Big Brother has meant so much to me. I met my husband on the show, I have two beautiful kids because of it. I'm a winner of the game. I'm a legend. Kinda felt like I let everyone down."

Rachel also advised the remaining housemates about how they would have to "work" to win the game.
