Big Brother Season 27 Episode 4 Recap: Housemates go through the BB Blockbuster, followed by the first elimination

CBS aired Big Brother Season 27 Episode 4 on July 17, 2025. The latest episode of the reality show featured the first elimination. There was the first BB Blockbuster competition which housemates including, Kelley, Zae, and Amy participated in.

After Kelley won the BB Blockbuster, she was safe from elimination. However, things were tense between Zae and Amy regarding the live elimination. Viewers witnessed an alliance forming, while Kelley called out the male cast members and their latest alliance.

With nine against five votes, Big Brother Season 27 Episode 4 ended with Zae going home. He became the first housemate to be eliminated from the show. He opened up to the show host about his elimination and expressed his surprise.

The recently released Big Brother Season 27 Episode 4 saw exciting turn of events. Previously, viewers witnessed intense Veto meeting where Jimmy called out Keanu and walked out. Additionally, Kelley got emotional after she was one of the nominations for the upcoming elimination.

In the Head of Household (HoH) room, aka Vince's room, there was an alliance forming. It included Zae, Rylie, Zach, and Will, along with Vince, and they're called Burger Boys. They planned to eliminate Amy and secure Zae. To save herself, Kelley went on a self-campaign where she called out some of the male housemates as "The Dumbbells."

Since Amy was Rachel's ally, she has been looking forward to gathering votes in her favor. She found some support among the female housemates. Witnessing that, Zae was aware of Rachel being Amy's ally and how he had to keep an eye on that. After Zae mentioned the possibility of him becoming the HoH, she also told him how he might be "beheaded" in the upcoming elimination.

Further in the episode, fans saw the first BB Blockbuster. Housemates, including Amy, Kelley, and Zae, played the Ransom Note. According to that, they had to find the right combination of words that would become a clue, pointing towards a specific item. After Kelley figured it out and picked up a gem tiara, she won the competition. It resulted in her safety from the upcoming elimination.

After the competition results were announced, housemates went through the first live elimination. They had to choose between Amy and Zae. Before that, the two were given a last chance to convince housemates to save themselves from the elimination.

Housemate Amy mentioned Zae was "physically" a competitor rather than "mentally." On the other hand, Zae noted that he was undoubtedly a "competitor," but he also stated that they were all there to compete against each other. He further shared that to affect Rachel, housemates should vote against Amy and "level the playing field." Listening to Zae, Rachel was not happy.

Big Brother Season 27 Episode 4 Recap: First elimination of the season

The time for the first elimination arrived, where each of the housemates went to the Diary Room to cast their votes.

• Votes against Amy: Kelley, Zach, Adrian, Keanu, and Will,
• Votes against Zae: Rachel, Rylie, Jimmy, Morgan, Ashley, Mickey, Ava, Katherine, and Lauren.

With nine votes against Zae to five votes against Amy, Zae was the first housemate to get eliminated from Big Brother Season 27.

In his exit interview with the show host Julie Chen Moonves, Zae expressed his surprise. He didn't expect to get a vote from Rylie. While leaving the reality show, Zae referred to himself as the housemate who was placed in the 17th position.
