Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker joins forces with Netflix for an upcoming crime thriller

As previously mentioned, Black Mirror's creator, Charlie Brooker, is all set for an upcoming crime thriller for Netflix. What's interesting is that his writing team includes Ben Caudell, Jason Hazeley, Emer Kenny, Daniel Maier, Joel Morris, and Victoria Asare Archer.

Per Tudum by Netflix, Charlie Brooker shared:

"I’m beyond thrilled to be saying these words for the press release. I’ve dreamt of providing a quote ever since I was a young foetus, and now here I am doing it."

Brooker continued:

"I’d pinch myself, but like all of us, I’m terrified that if I do that, I might wake up and discover 2025 has all been a magical dream. Please watch my show. I am begging you."

For those who love stories that are dark and complicated, Brooke already teased that his thriller will have "blood and frowning." While the release date and other major details haven't been revealed, actor Paddy Considine is said to helm the leading role.

Considine has already gathered fans through the MobLand TV series, filled with action and grit. He has also been a part of other projects like House of the Dragon, Deep Cover, and more. So, the actor playing an intense role would be another treat for fans.

"That means there are more sources of inspiration... We can do stories that I wouldn't have thought of 10 years ago..."

Brooker also explained that viewers don't need heavy explanations now. They use technology every day, and making more stories about the dark side of it would be interesting.
