Blood of Zeus Season 3 marked the conclusion of the animated show on Netflix. The third season dropped on May 8, 2025 and all the 8 episodes are available at once, giving fans a chance to binge.
The official synopsis of Blood of Zeus Season 3, as per Rotten Tomatoes, mentions that the show
“Chronicles the illegitimate son of Zeus, a young man tasked with saving heaven and earth despite the interference of a vengeful goddess and her monstrous forces.”
The final season saw Heron and Seraphim’s attempts to stop the Titans from taking over, as Gaia had called back Typhon because she was disappointed in the Gods. One of the key characters who lost her life amid the war is Persephone, as she asked her husband Hades to keep the children safe while she fought Typhon, who eventually killed her.
Let us now explore what happened in Blood of Zeus Season 3 in detail.
Heron made the ultimate sacrifice in Blood of Zeus Season 3
While Heron had been killed by Hades in Blood of Zeus Season 2, the trailer of Season 3 had made it clear that Heron was not dead. Since he was a demigod, it was understandable that he had the power to come back. That is what happens in Blood of Zeus Season 3 and Heron, along with his brother Seraphim, fight together against Typhon and Cronos.
Initially, Heron and Seraphim seemed to be at a disadvantage in the fight because of the combined power of Typhon and Cronos. However, once the brothers started using their individual strengths, they started winning over their opponents. Given the fact that Heron was the child of Zeus, he naturally had a lot of power that he started unleashing on their rivals, while Seraphim used his Adamantium sword.
However, while the brothers were at a position of advantage during the fight, Heron had to make the ultimate sacrifice of killing Typhon to win the battle. As he unleashed his power to the fullest, it destroyed Typhon, However, Heron, too, died in the process, as unleashing the power took a toll on him. His self-sacrifice gave Seraphim more control on the war, and he held ground steadily.
Electra met both her children at the end of Blood of Zeus Season 3
As the Titans were finally defeated by the Olympians in Blood of Zeus Season 3, Heron, after his death, visited his mother Electra at the Elysian Fields. The mother-son duo was naturally overjoyed to meet after such a prolonged period of time, and their bonding is shown in an emotional moment in the show.
What makes this moment even more special is Seraphim visiting them. Electra is beyond happy to have both her children with her, and as the family shares some beautiful moments together, it could be interpreted that Seraphim, too, passed away in the war and has now united with his mother and brother.
However, alternatively, Seraphim might be alive and has only come to visit them following the victory of the Olympians. Since the finale of Blood of Zeus did not clarify Seraphim's fate, it is open for interpretation.
Blood of Zeus can be streamed on Netflix.
