Bon Appétit, Your Majesty Episode 10 recap: Ji-young's arrest and King Lee-heon's desperation to save her

Bon Appétit, Your Majesty Episode 10 starts with Gil-geum deciding to go to the King herself and reveal that Yeon Ji-young has been taken by the Dowager Queen and accused of poisoning Grand Prince Jinmyeong. The King was unaware of the torture and was waiting for Ji-young at the greenhouse.
Soon, the chief eunuch delivers shocking news to the King: Ji-young has been arrested and is locked inside the prison. Lee-heon is fueled with anger and feels miserable and broken to see Ji-young in immense pain.
He asks the guards for the keys, but the Dowager Queen took them. As the Bon Appétit, Your Majesty episode continues, the Queen arrives and claims that Ji-young poisoned the food to kill the Grand Prince, and even hints that she has doubts about the King, too.
The Queen also argues that Ji-young has great influence on the King, and that they both have planned this. This intensifies King Lee-heon's anger, and he pulls out his sword to kill her. However, Ji-young asks him to leave as she wants to prevent Lee-heon from becoming a tyrant.
The King spares the Queen's life and declares that he will investigate the matter by himself and prove Ji-young innocent. The Queen then mentions that if she's found guilty, there will be severe punishment.

Bon Appétit, Your Majesty Episode 10: The investigation begins, and a painful confession is made

Worried about Ji-young, King Lee-heon wastes no time and starts investigating the illness of Grand Prince Jinmyeong in episode 10 of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty. He learns that Jinmyeong has only eaten the food made by the chief royal cook and taken medicines for the day under the Queen's care.
Later, Lee-heon's grandmother releases Ji-young and gives her only three days to prove her innocence. She trusts Ji-young and wants to help her grandson and the cook. Ji-young returns to the royal kitchen, where the chefs get emotional after seeing her.
Later, the servants request the King to have some food, but he refuses. Since Ji-young is also present, she reminds the King of eating his meals on time. Lee-heon is surprised to hear her voice and rushes to see Ji-young.
He feels good to see her released and hugs Ji-young. She warns that public displays of affection could cause misunderstandings, but Lee-heon blurts out his feelings, openly confessing that he genuinely likes her.
King Lee-heon even kissed Ji-young and said, "That was for the woman I cherish the most. That was my kiss", leaving Ji-young surprised. The two then share a meal, and Ji-young asks the King to uncover the truth together. She only has three days, and failing will cause her death.
The poisoning mystery unfolds in Bon Appétit, Your Majesty Episode 10

Later in episode 10 of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, Lee-heon unexpedly collapsed, raising suspicion as he developed symptoms that are similar to those of the Grand Prince Jinmyeong. Before that, the King investigated the herbs and medicines that the Prince took, and found one herb quite unusual.
Ji-young took those herbs inside her quarters, where Gil-geum claims that they are rats' droppings. As they dig deep into this matter, the royal physician identifies it as coming from a special type of squirrel. Normally medicinal, when combined with ginseng, it becomes poisonous.
This explains that this was a deliberate sabotage. It's revealed that Kang Mok-ju ordered a female physician to play with Jinmyeong's medicines, and when she succeeded in the evil plan, Consort Kang's confidant, Chu-Wol, helped her escape.
The King sent Gon-gil to bring the female physician as she had already escaped. While Gong-gil managed to find her, he also witnessed Chul-wol trying to kill the physician. A tense confrontation unfolds, during which Chu-wol reveals that she knows Gon-gil is the rebel and reveals that Kang Mok-ju ordered the death of his sister.
While Gong-gil wasn't able to save the female physician, he took Chu-wol with her. She's locked inside the prison and refuses to admit that Consort Kang ordered her to do this. Later, when Kang Mok-ju meets Chul-wol, she kills her.
This way, she ends up eliminating her most trusted servant and proving that she's pure evil. Kang Mok-ju then prepares for the last blow against King Lee-heon and Ji-young in Bon Appétit, Your Majesty Episode 10.
Heartfelt moments between Ji-young and King Lee-heon amid political intrigue at the palace
Back at the palace, the royal physician prepares an antidote for the King and Prince Jinmyeong. After the King takes the medicine, he, the physician, and Ji-young head to the Queen’s quarters to give it to the Grand Prince.
However, Jinmyeon suffers violent reactions to the medicine because of hunger. Ji-young identifies the issue and makes a nourishing sujebi broth, describing it as a fusion dish inspired by French and Joseon cuisine. The Queen doubts the food, but after King Lee-heon tastes it, she feeds it to her son.
The Grand Prince Jinmyeong is saved, and so is Ji-young from being wrongly accused of the poisoning. As the episode nears the end, the evil Prince Jesan takes his minister to a place where King Lee-heon's maternal grandmother is revealed to be alive, holding a doll containing a blood-stained cloth of the King's late mother.
Prince Jesan has planned to release Lee-heon's grandmother on the day of the Queen Dowager's 60th anniversary in the next episode of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty. He wants Lee-heon to lose control and kill everyone around him, including the Han family, so that he can be dethroned.
By the end of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty Episode 10, King Lee-heon confessed his feelings to Ji-young. He presents her with a ring and asks her to be his companion. In a heartfelt moment, Lee-heon says that he will make bibimbap for Ji-young every day if she accepts his proposal.
Initially, Yeon Ji-young was desperate to return to the future, but after hearing the King's confession, she thought that it wouldn't be too bad if she stayed in Joseon with the King forever. The two share a passionate kiss in the end, suggesting that the love story has finally begun.
