Episode 9 of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, picked up from the cliffhanger: The scores from round 2, about to be revealed. In the most startling moment, the Ming envoy gave Joseon just "1" point, while King Lee-heon praised Tang Bailong and gave them a solid "8" in the second round.

The Ming envoy's scheme to defeat Joseon angers King Lee-heon, and he ends up asking the chefs to rate their own dishes. However, they didn't rate each other, resulting in another tie. This means that Ji-young is again left with just one last option: Win the cooking battle.

As the third round begins, Ji-young and the other Joseon chefs prepare the food while also waiting for Chun-saeng to bring the lid of the pressure cooker. The time was slipping, and Ji-young decided to follow Plan B. But before she could start, the great inventor, Chun-saeng, arrived at the palace on time.

He makes a fun and energetic entry using his invented helicopter made of bamboo. Ji-young is happy to get the lid, and when she starts using the cooker, the King and everyone else inside the battle room are curious and scared.

They thought that the pressure cooker might blast, but it didn't. Ji-young was able to prepare her final dish that brought tears to Chef Kong Wenli's eyes. He stopped tasting food years back, but Ji-young's food reminded him of his late grandmother.

As a result, Yeon Ji-young and the Joseon chefs won the cooking competition in episode 9 of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty. This ensured that Joseon did not lose its Ginseng and other precious food items.

The Ming envoy demands to take Ji-young with her in Bon Appétit, Your Majesty episode 9

Just when it looked like the Joseon chefs could finally relax, the Ming envoy demands that King Lee-heon must gift Yeon Ji-young to the Ming emperor. Since Lee-heon promised to offer them a present, the cunning envoy kept demanding Ji-young.

A clash between the Ming and Joseon soldiers begins, leading to a fight. Soon, the Queen Dowager arrives with a letter from her aunt, who happens to be the second wife of the late emperor of the Ming dynasty. This exposes the Min envoy, and he begs King Lee-heon for forgiveness.

The scene is engaging and a bit lighthearted as the Ming envoy, who has been claiming himself to be a highly respected director begs on his knees. He leaves without any demand and just the gifts that King Lee-heon has prepared for them.

King Lee-heon has been worried about Ji-young since the cooking competition took off, as he learned that the traitor wants her dead. Though he and the soldiers were able to bring Ji-young safely to the palace, she hurt her wrist.

Despite the injury, Ji-young was able to win the showdown, and later, King Lee-heon presented him with a new dress. This makes Ji-young incredibly happy, but she still wants to go back. She mentions her Mangunrok book, and the idea of returning to her original timeline makes the King a little sad.

Back at Consort Kang's place, she and Prince Jesan continue to scheme against Ji-young and King Lee-heon. Kang Mok-ju orders her maid to poison the Prince's food, which will result in Ji-young being tortured and thrown into prison.
