Bon Appétit, Your Majesty Episode 7 recap: Ji-young's inventive challenge and the king’s playful jealousy

Titled "Course N° 7 Dongnae Pajeon on a Rainy Day", episode 7 of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty begins with Yeon Ji-young preparing for the third round of the cooking competition, making samgyetang, a restorative ginseng chicken soup.
However, she struggles because this dish requires a pressure cooker, which would not have existed in the Joseon period. Then, she thinks about history and searches for Jang Yeong-sil's family. She meets Jang Yeong-sil's quirky nephew Chun-saeng, who is remembered for accidents, not accomplishments, in Joseon.
The king insists on following Ji-young on her journey along with the jester Gong-gil, because his jealousy will not allow her to go alone with Sung-jae. In Chun-saeng's house, there is a lighthearted moment where the puffed rice explodes not as gunpowder, giving the king yet another opportunity to respect Ji-young's confidence.
Nevertheless, Chun-saeng refuses to help initially, denying Ji-young when she asks him to make a pressure cooker. Since the King and everyone else were disguised, Lee-heon couldn't reveal his real identity, but often taunted Chun-saeng for his work.
Since Ji-young wanted the pressure cooker, she asked the King to control his rage. Lee-heon then orders Gong-gil and So-hyuk to come up with ideas before dawn to convince the inventor.

Ji-young's heartfelt plea and Dongnae Pajeon win Chun-saeng's heart in Bon Appétit, Your Majesty Episode 7
As Ji-young struggles to convince Chun-saeng in Bon Appétit, Your Majesty Episode 7, darker plans were being carried out elsewhere. Prince Jesan was planning to kill her and ordered the assassins to head out.
The head Ming chef tipped off the Joseon side in secret because he wanted a fair fight. Meanwhile, Ji-young was trying every tactic with Chun-saeng, even to the point of offering sugar and sharing food like pajeon and makgeolli, including on a rainy day.
Chun-saeng finally buys her sincerity that she desires to find joy in feeding others. He ultimately agrees to make the pressure cooker, but trouble comes quickly. Assassins burst into Chun-saeng's workshop, and even the King had to fight to defend Ji-young.
While they did survive, Ji-young fainted after seeing one attacker get brutally murdered, and Gong-gil and Hyun-suk were mildly injured. Not only this, Ji-young had to leave behind the cooker's lid, but Chun-saeng promised her that he would bring the lid to the palace on time.
The cooking battle gets delayed in Bon Appétit, Your Majesty Episode 7

Back at the palace, the plot thickens, as a Ming chef does the unthinkable and trades his Sichuan peppercorns for gochugaru with Jesan. This threatens Ji-young's lead in this cooking battle.
The envoy throws a fit while Ji-young and the king are absent, but the Ming chief suggests that others wait until the actual hour begins. The competition has almost begun, and King Lee-heon and others return on time.
Chef Eom and Gil-geum are relieved to see Ji-young back, but her injured hand might cause trouble while cooking. At the same time, her gochujang is also missing as the female Ming chef cleverly traded the ingredients.
By the end of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty Episode 7, Ji-young thanks the King for saving her life. Lee-heon also feels guilty from inside as he's the one who accepted the challenge and made Ji-young the royal cook.
However, the cooking battle is on, and Ji-young has no option but to win. At the same time, Prince Jesan continues to try to sabotage her work, hoping for Joseon to lose so that he can convince the ministers to dethrone King Lee-heon.
