Fans of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty didn't just like the time-travel twist and royal intrigue, but also the charming performances of its cast. And among them is Lee Chae-min, who has now become one of the most popular and adored personalities in the K-drama world.

Since the story is about the magic that Yeon Ji-young created with her food, Lee Chae-min revealed that his favorite dish from the K-drama is Beef Bourguignon. The dish was presented during the cook-off between the Ming and Joseon, and once again, King Lee-heon's reaction was everything.

However, Lee wasn't always the first choice to play King Lee-heon, as Park Sung-hoon previously secured the role. And after Park stepped down, many fans wondered if the replacement could live up to expectations.

Lee not only met those expectations but exceeded them, giving a performance so mesmerizing that viewers soon began claiming that they couldn't picture anyone else as the king. The chemistry, combined with Yoona's performance, made their show an amazing hit.

TvN even released a special episode of the K-drama, where Yoona, Lee, and other cast members took on their roles for the last time, sat for an interview, and even reacted to a few heartfelt scenes.

Bon Appétit, Your Majesty took no time in becoming one of the most liked and tvN's hit K-drama of the year, thanks to Lee Chae-min, Yoona, and every cast member fr giving it all to bring the characters to life.

As mentioned before, Lee saw a notable boost in his fan base after the K-drama, and now many are curious to know more about him. In a recent interview, the Crushology 101 actor talked about preparing for his mukbang scenes.

Fans loved not just the delicious-looking dishes but also Lee’s hilarious and over-the-top reactions, which made the scenes both mouthwatering and incredibly entertaining to watch. Lee also mentioned that he had to eat every dish while filming, and that at one point, he just chewed them and couldn't swallow.

The actor then said:

"However, the Beef Bourguignon was so tasty that I swallowed it greedily."

The colorful macarons that stole the Ming convoy's heart in Bon Appétit, Your Majesty were also liked by Lee. He continued:

"Also, although I don’t particularly like sweet things, the macarons were so delicious that I took a few after filming ended."

Lee also admitted that it was King Lee-heon who was astonished by Ji-young's food, and not the actor. For him, the dishes were quite flavorful, but weren’t so astonishing that he felt like he was "flying" from the taste. Still, the scenes required him to exaggerate his reactions to make the moments entertaining and fit the character.

Although viewers may not have noticed, Lee Chae-min admitted that filming the mukbang scenes for Bon Appétit, Your Majesty led to a small increase in his weight, thanks to all the delicious food he had to taste on camera. The actor had to remove his top in various scenes, so he had to make sure he looked fit for those shots.

Lee Chae-min said:

"I try to lose weight quickly two days before the scenes where I remove my top."

He continued:

"By the way, the director mentioned before filming that there would be several such scenes, so I asked for time, but as filming progressed, the schedule didn’t allow it."

In order to continue looking the way he did, Lee balanced on-set support with his own effort. He was committed to exercising regularly and also took it upon himself to do ab workouts, so that he could retain the look of his abs.

Lee was open about the fact that most of his abs are real, but he admitted that despite exercising, eating so much for the scenes, he gained in weight than usual. He described this as a bit regrettable but handled it professionally, balancing his physical preparation with the demands of filming.
