The Dark Winds Season 4 cast has got bigger and better, with the addition of Titus Welliver. The veteran actor, recognized for playing the titular role in Prime Video’s Bosch and its sequel Bosch: Legacy, has officially joined the AMC psychological thriller series.
Welliver has been cast in the role of a crime boss named Dominic McNair, who is expected to cause trouble for the Navajo Tribal Police officers. The development comes just a few days after the actor landed another ambitious project, MGM+ crime drama, The Westies.
Dark Winds revolves around three Navajo officers who investigate various crimes in the 1970s. The show is famous for its authentic portrayal of Native American life. Here are all the updates you need about Titus Welliver’s casting in the upcoming season.
Titus Welliver to play crime boss Dominic McNair in Dark Winds Season 4
As per TV Insider, Dominic McNair is a crime lord who deals in drugs and stolen luxury goods. He makes sure that the illegal items are traded in and out of Los Angeles without any trouble. Titus Welliver will appear in multiple episodes of Dark Winds Season 4.
Following the announcement of his casting, Titus Welliver shared a picture from the sets of the show on his X account. In the behind-the-scenes image, he is seen in handcuffs while a crew member adjusts his hair. He captioned the post:

Dark Winds Season 4 was confirmed by AMC in February 2025, even before the third season debuted on screens. The new instalment is currently filming and is expected to feature another intriguing mystery that would be solved by officers Joe Leaphorn, Bernadette Manuelito, and FBI agent Jim Chee.
The main cast members will reprise their roles in the upcoming season, including Zahn McClarnon as Joe, Jessica Matten as Bernadette, and Kiowa Gordon as Jim. Apart from Titus Welliver, a few other actors have also joined the series in the fourth season.
These include Chaske Spencer, who will star as Sonny, a member of a Los Angeles criminal gang. Additionally, Luke Barnett will play FBI Special Agent Toby Show, and Isabel DeRoy-Olson will portray Billie Tsosie, a Navajo teen.
Meanwhile, Titus Welliver has also bagged The Westies on MGM+. The period crime drama stars J.K. Simmons and Tom Brittney and revolves around an Irish gang in 1980s New York City. Welliver will play NYPD officer Glenn Keenan, who is confused about whether he should perform his professional duty or be loyal to his childhood friends.

The actor was recently seen in the third and final season of Bosch: Legacy, which concluded the over 10-year-long journey of former LAPD detective Hieronymus "Harry" Bosch. Welliver will now reprise his role in the upcoming spin-off series, Ballard, which focuses on Detective Renée Ballard, played by Maggie Q. The actor's other acting credits include the shows Sons of Anarchy, Deadwood, and Brooklyn South.
Dark Winds Season 4 is expected to premiere on AMC in 2026.
