Boston Blue Episode 2 recap: Sean's first day at work and a shocking murder

In Episode 2 of Boston Blue, Sean begins his job as a cop and rides with his friend, Jonah. As both of them are from cop families, they are given the same advice of being Batman or the hero, which initially hampers their job as they fail to catch a criminal. But in the end, they realise they have to shake off the outdated advice of being a cop, and decide to remain friends like they always were.

The main storyline of the episode was the death of Winston Ballard, a witness who was supposed to be under police protection. However, even with Danny trying to keep him alive, Winston died, leaving a big case against Louis Malakov hanging. However, since Winston was trying to reveal to the court the Ponzi scheme that Malakov ran, the latter became the prime suspect in Winston's murder.

The death of a witness also brought forth the failures of policing, as one of the cops had to leave due to personal matters, and the other lied about being near him. However, a more shocking twist in the case made it more complicated.

Boston Blue Episode 2 recap: Malakov's death and Danny's decision to stay in Boston

After Winston's death, Malakov was their prime suspect in Episode 2 of Boston Blue. However, when Danny and his new partner Lena went to interrogate him, he was shot and killed right in front of the cops. The killers then went away in a blue van as the cops failed to catch them.

Before dying, Malakov uttered the word "win", which either pointed toward Winston, the first victim, or Malakov's wife, Winnie. The cops then began investigating Winnie as she was the one who started the company and later separated herself from it when it became a Ponzi scheme and started her own non-profit after divorcing Malakov.

She also became a suspect as the blue van in which the killers escaped was her company's. However, she revealed that they had filed a report for the van, which was stolen a week before the murder. After further investigation, the cops discovered that Winston and Malakov were killed by a man named Harold Baca. He was the brother of Winston's wife, Naomi Ballard, who was the mastermind behind the killings.

Their next victim was Winnie, whom Danny saved. Naomi was not happy with her husband coming forward and revealing Malakov's fraudulent business, as she loved her luxurious life. Naomi and Baca were both arrested for their crimes.

At the end of the episode, Danny makes a heartfelt decision to stay in Boston, closer to his son.
