Boston Blue Episode 7 recap:

Here are some of the major events in Boston Blue episode 7, "Baggage Claim":

  • A suspicious suitcase

Boston Blue Episode 7 opens with Boston patrolmen Jonah and Sean in a park. They are about to arrest a routine thief when they find an abandoned suitcase that's bleeding. Upon opening the case, the murder victim is identified as Claire Hayes.

  • Lena's white whale

Lena suspects Senator Lowell's involvement in Claire's murder. The Boston police detective had suspected Lowell of murdering a s*x worker early in her career. She even got an arrest warrant with great difficulty. However, the senator managed to wipe out the proof of his involvement by the time Lena managed to get the warrant.

Since then, she sees him as the white whale who got away. But this experience also taught Lena to meticulously build cases. Investigation also uncovers that Claire also met the senator in a hotel before her death. But this case has Lena hopeful of catching the white whale.

  • Lena is a bit careless

It seems Danny's influence has rubbed off on Lena, and the latter's influence has rubbed off on him, too, over the previous six episodes of Boston Blue. She is too keen to take down the senator and immediately takes unclear CCTV footage as evidence. However, Danny points out that the man pulling the suitcase containing Lena's remains could be anyone with a similar build to the senator.

A distraught Lena asks Danny why he questioned her instincts:

“Why don’t you trust me? I need your help, Danny. And I thought you were the kind of partner who would understand and who would stand with me. Was I wrong about you?”

To this, Danny responds:

“Of course, I trust you. And more importantly. I believe in you. You think I would be in this city if I didn’t? Sean or no Sean, I would be out of here. I also happen to believe that you are 100 percent correct about Senator Lowell. I’ve been down this road many times. We have to be smarter than him, so when we nail that son of a bitch, we nail him for good. That’s what the victims deserve. And maybe you could trust me a little bit, too.”

Hearing this, she accepts Danny's words, and soon the duo finds smoking gun evidence against the senator.

  • The truth revealed

The detectives bring the senator in for the last questioning, and this is where the detectives bring the damning evidence. Claire had compromising photographs of the senator with his mistress.
