Prime Video is soon coming up with a gripping spy thriller series titled Butterfly. The show brings together the best of American and South Korean talent, with Daniel Dae Kim leading the cast as David Jung.
David is a former intelligence operative from the US with a troubled past, now living in South Korea. However, he soon realizes that he cannot escape his past as a spy organization sends an agent to hunt him down.
The assassin turns out to have a personal connection with David, which changes the course of the mission. Butterfly is going to premiere on August 13, 2025. Here are all the updates you need about the show.

Butterfly is going to be released on Prime Video on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. The show will feature six episodes, which will be dropped simultaneously. Hence, you can binge-watch the espionage series. However, to watch the show, you will need an active subscription to Prime Video, which costs $8.99 per month.
The plot of Butterfly
The show revolves around David Jung, a former US spy living in South Korea, who is being hunted by an espionage organization headed by Juno. The organization sends Rebecca, a young agent, to kill David because he committed a terrible mistake in the past.
However, Rebecca ends up finding out that David is actually her father, who she thought had died years ago. The two then team up to save their lives and go against the organization, leading to an action-packed run and chase. The official synopsis of the show reads:

The star cast of Butterfly
The series stars Daniel Dae Kim in the lead role of David Jung. Reina Hardesty plays Rebecca, the agent sent to kill David, who happens to be her father. Piper Perabo plays Juno, the CEO of the dangerous spy organization.
Sean Dulake stars as Hollis, Juno’s close aide, and Louis Landau plays an intelligent operative named Oliver. Additionally, Charles Parnell stars as Senator George Dawson, Kim Ji-hoon as Gun, and Sung Dong-il as Dootae Kim. Lee Il-hwa and Kim Tae-hee appear in guest roles. The full cast list is as below:
