The French popular series Call My Agent is officially getting an American version. According to Variety, the American adaptation of the series will be produced for HBO.While the French version followed the lives of four talent agents, the American version of Call My Agent will narrate the story of four sports agents. As per Variety, the show will be executive-produced and written Sarah Schneider. After its success, Netflix bought the rights and renamed it Call My Agent and released it on the streaming platform. The show has aired four seasons and will end with a TV film and a Season 5.The French version tells the intriguing story of four talent agents who try to manage their high-profile clients and also try to thrive in the competing world while also maintaining their personal lives. The American version will be a little different as it will follow the story of four sports agents and their personal and professional lives.As per Variety, the logline of Call My Agent reads as:"Four work-obsessed sports agents struggle to balance their personal lives and their clients’ needs in an industry where, more and more, it feels like being an athlete is just the start."The series will be helmed by acclaimed writer Sarah Schneider, known for co-creating the fan-favorite comedy series The Other Two with Chris Kelly, which aired on Comedy Central and HBO Max. Schnieder and Kelly are also known for their work on Saturday Night Live, where they were the head writers for Season 42. Her work in the comedy series and SNL has earned her numerous accolades, including several Emmy nominations.Apart from these, Schnieder has also written for several other globally popular shows, such as Master of None starring Aziz Ansari and the latest fan-favorite series on HBO, The Chair Company starring Tim Robinson.The American version of Call My Agent is the latest among various other versions of the show, as numerous other countries, such as India, the U.K., Germany, Turkey, Korea, have adapted the series, with China also being on the list of countries to be working on it.Apart from Plan B executive producing the series, popular NBA star LeBron James's company, SpringHill Studios, will also executive-produce the series. In the original series, several French actors appeared as themselves in the series.
