CBS 2025 release dates: From NCIS to FBI, here’s when your favorite shows are returning this year

CBS has finally announced the premiere dates for its returning and new shows in 2025. The fall schedule seems pretty exciting as the network brings back acclaimed shows, including Matlock and Watson, long-running procedurals like NCIS and FBI, and thrilling new series like Sheriff Country and Boston Blue.

The fall broadcast schedule begins with the premiere of unscripted shows like Survivor and The Amazing Race by the end of September, and will be followed by the debut of scripted shows by mid-October.

There has been a major change in the release strategy, as Watson Season 2, which was supposed to arrive in midseason, has been shifted to the fall schedule, while the release of the FBI spin-off, CIA, has been delayed to midseason.

Here are all the details you need about the premiere dates of various CBS shows.

Premiere dates of CBS shows in the 2025 fall schedule

The scripted programming block on CBS will officially begin on Sunday, October 12, 2025, with special sneak peeks of Matlock Season 2 and Elsbeth Season 3. Both these shows will later be moved to their traditional time slot of Thursday.

NCIS, along with its spin-offs NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Sydney, will return on Tuesday, October 14, while FBI will debut on Monday, October 13. Young Sheldon sequel Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’s season 2 will arrive on screens on Thursday, October 16, along with Ghosts Season 5.

On the other hand, Fire Country and its new spin-off series, Sheriff Country, will premiere on Friday, October 17. On the same day, audiences will get to watch the first episode of Blue Bloods’ spin-off, Boston Blue. Justin Hartley-starrer action drama Tracker will return with its third season on Sunday, October 19.
