Chances of a second season renewal for Robin Hood revealed by lead star 

MGM+’s Robin Hood is reaching its finale this month. The buzz around a possible second installment is already building up excitement among fans. The latest reimagining of the classic tale is created by John Glenn, exploring the relationship between Rob (Jack Patten) and Marian (Lauren McQueen) as they challenge royal corruption.

For the first season of Robin Hood, the reception has been positive. With Patten as the lead cast, the show launched into epic adventure drama with its 10 episodes. Lauren McQueen is playing Maid Marian. Both the cast members have recently opened up in an interview with The Manchester Evening News about the possibility of a second season.

Ahead of the finale, Patten just raised the bar on fan excitement by taking the question of a season 2 of Robin Hood head-on. Speaking to The Manchester Evening News, the actor expressed genuine excitement at the idea of returning.

“We would love to do a [season] 2. That would be awesome. Jonathan [English] and John [Glenn] just wrote awesome characters. As actors we love an arc, you can't ask for much more,” he stated.

Patten’s enthusiasm resonated in co-star Lauren McQueen's statement on the matter. Patten confirmed that she will “definitely” return if MGM+ launches another installment.

Season finales often establish a brief entryway for future installments. Patten, too, teased that the ending of Robin Hood opens up many possibilities.

“I think the season ends quite interestingly for every single character. I think it could develop, but we just wanted to do the best we could for season 1.”

Commenting on the work environment, McQueen said,

“It's a really exciting young cast as well, so talented. I'm so excited for everyone to see new actors.”

She added,

“We were just like a big family at the end and I think you can really see that energy on screen.”

The tale of MGM+ Robin Hood explores the following story, according to the MGM+ press release:

“Following the Norman invasion of England, Rob – a Saxon forester’s son – and Marian, the daughter of a Norman lord, fall in love and work together to fight for justice and freedom. As Rob rises as the leader of a band of rebel outlaws, Marian infiltrates the power at court, and both work together to thwart royal corruption and bring peace to the land.”

The ensemble cast of Robin Hood offers a dynamic blend of newcomers with seasoned actors. Sean Bean stars as the formidable Sheriff of Nottingham, Lydia Peckham plays Priscilla of Nottingham, Steven Waddington portrays the Earl of Huntingdon, and Connie Nielsen takes on the role of Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine.

With the finale set for December 28, viewers are excited to see what these potent character arcs culminate in. According to Patten and McQueen, the ending leaves room for further development, hinting at a broader scope for season 2.

Meanwhile, Rob and Marian’s partnership remains key to Robin Hood's central plotline. The narrative of rebellion, intrigue, and romance could easily expand into a second season if MGM+ chooses to continue the story.
