If you are also missing the complete Firehouse 51 squad on Chicago Fire, this might come as bad news as the show might be heading to operate with a skeleton crew in the upcoming season.
With rumors that the show is facing a budget crunch and might limit cast members per episode, Firehouse 51 might look very different in the next season.
The penultimate episode, 'The Bad Guy', teased some potential changes in the squad, which might be a preview of what's about to come in the upcoming season. One of the most significant changes was Domm Pascal being asked to step down from the Chief's position.
After he revealed that he has prepared a letter of recommendation for Hermann, Firehouse 51 might see some changes in leadership in the upcoming season.
More on Chicago Fire's future in our story.
Pascal's future took a bleak turn in Chicago Fire Season 13
The most significant change in the Firehouse 51 teased in Chicago Fire Season 13's penultimate episode was Pascal's exit. When the crew is called to a car accident, they discover that the man behind the wheel is Robert Franklin, the same person who was involved in Pascal's wife Monica's car accident.
This table-turn situation was no coincidence, and Severide investigated the case, discovering that Franklin's car's fuel lines were cut purposefully. They were aligned perfectly to catch sparks from the catalytic converter and ignite and the tool used to cut was even traced back to the Fire Department.
With all fingers pointed at Pascal, Severide suspected him of tampering with Franklin's car to exact revenge for his wife's murder. While he kept his suspicions away from the Fire Investigation Captain Van Meter, he eventually got a whiff of the situation and Pascal was asked to walk out of Firehouse 51.
Chicago Fire Season 14 could operate on a skeleton crew for Firehouse 51
While one or the other members of Firehouse 51 seem absent in almost every episode, the station could very well operate with a skeleton crew in Season 14.
While Pascal may have been framed by Hendricks, his connection in Miami, who had relations with the mob, the show established some time off for the character.
In addition, Van Meter also found out that Severide kept his suspicions about Pascal from him, which might end badly for him too. Firehouse 51 might also lose Severide for some time.
Chicago Fire Season 13's penultimate episode also saw Kidd bond with Natalie on their road trip, which ended badly as her mother left without telling her. With Severide and Kidd desperately trying to adopt a child, the show might settle them with Natalie in a new place, meaning Kidd and Severide would no longer work at Firehouse 51.
Lastly, the two characters who were confirmed will not return in Chicago Fire Season 14 are Darren Ritter and Sam Carver. Since Carver is still not back at the fire station, the upcoming season might see his permanent departure. In addition, after Violet broke up with Flynn and indirectly confirmed her feelings for Carver, she might also move away with him.
Out of all the characters, it remains to be seen how the show will write off Ritter's character since no progress was made on that front.
