Chicago Med Season 11 answers the major question that fans have been wondering ever since May this year: Who is Dr. Hannah Asher's baby's father? The season 11 premiere answers the question. Turns out that Asher's carrying Dr. Dean Archer's baby, and the first episode of this season opens with this shocking revelation, finally providing an answer to a long-standing mystery.

The second-to-last episode of the tenth season shocked viewers by revealing that Hannah was pregnant, and the closing minutes of the season 10 finale saw her visiting Archer's home. Now, the Chicago Med Season 11 premiere has finally provided the answer that fans have been waiting for nearly five months. The opening scene sets the stage for an emotionally charged premiere.

Steven Weber reveals what Dr. Dean Archer is going through after the Chicago Med Season 11 revelation:

Dr. Dean Archer, actor Steven Weber, and showrunner Allen MacDonald were interviewed by Deadline after the Chicago Med Season 11 premiere, We All Fall Down. Steven Weber told the reporter his character's mindser in the first episode of this season. When asked about what Archer was going through in this episode, Steven Weber revealed that his character was freaking out about becoming a father for the second time at an old age:

“Given his history and where he is now, having finally attained a kind of balanced equilibrium, the fact that he’s going to be a father is freaking him out. He’s seriously worried; not that he isn’t able, but he’s starting to clock his own physical decline. I mean, he’s a guy who’s had a major operation, after having had his kidney removed. It’ll be an interesting thing for the audience, who’s already a bit freaked out by the age difference and the shock value of it all. But I think it will remind people that having children isn’t a walk in the park. Even in situations like this, they’re not casual about it, and they demand a kind of effort on the part of people who may be frightened.”

Showrunner Allen MacDonald had interesting teases for Chicago Med Season 11:

As mentioned before, showrunner Allen MacDonald was also a part of the Deadline interview. The showrunner revealed that he and the writers knew where they wanted to go with Archer and Asher as early as the tenth season. They planted the seeds of their eventual future as parents in the seventeenth episode of season 10. However, according to MacDonald, the two reverted to being friends after their brief hookup:

“They sleep together, and they don’t regret it. They had a good time in this moment of connection, but I imagine the next morning or the next day, they had a conversation about what it all means. Can this happen, or are we better as friends? And they decided that they were better as friends.”

MacDonald then continued:

“I think that from that point forward, they clicked back into their previous dynamic, until Hannah shows up at Archer’s door [in the Season 10 finale]. So, going into Season 11, we now have this dynamic where there is nothing more intimate than having a child together. What does that mean for them? What does that mean for the feelings that they have for each other? And how those feelings will shift and change as the season goes on. Where it ends, I’m definitely not going to say, but there’s that push and the pull and the tension of the season.”

When asked what we can expect from the pair in the upcoming episodes of Chicago Med Season 11, Allen MacDonald said:

“I think that emotionally, there’s a connection between Archer and Hannah, and that is definitely something we’re gonna explore as the season goes on. There are moments where feelings are going to surge, on one side or another. The question is, are they ever going to surge at the exact same moment? So we’ll have to see.”

Furthermore, the showrunner also confirmed that we will see Hannah give birth to the baby in this season itself.
