Chicago Med Season 11: Renewal status, potential release window, and everything we know so far

NBC's long-running medical procedural, Chicago Med, finally concluded its Season 10 with an explosive finale on May 21, 2025.

As part of Chicago Wednesdays, the medical show concluded its respective season with other One Chicago shows, Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D.

While the current season is over, fans do not need to worry about the franchise's fate, as Chicago Med and the other two shows have already been renewed by NBC for another season.

The franchise will likely return with new episodes in Fall 2025.

NBC earlier confirmed Chicago Med Season 11 as part of its annual renewals. While there is no confirmed news about the release date, the new season is expected to arrive sometime in October 2025. Since the One Chicago franchise usually premieres its new seasons as part of NBC's Fall schedule, the show will likely return in Fall 2025.

With talks of budget cuts, it remains to be seen which cast members will make it and return in Season 11. Since the Season 10 finale also saw the Gaffney board asking Goodwin to make some urgent firings, it might be a preview of some cast members leaving the show for good.

The Season 10 finale saw Dr. Dennis Washington (John Earl Jelks) hand in his resignation after the board asked Goodwin to fire him. Since the couple also broke up in the finale, it remains to be seen whether Earl Jelks will return for Season 11.

What happened in the Chicago Med Season 10 finale?

Season 10 had an eventful finale which saw Goodwin and Dr. Dennis part ways. After Goodwin reveals the upsetting news of Dennis' firing, he lashes out at her. However, while he apologizes and turns in his resignation letter, Goodwin breaks up with him.

Elsewhere, a familiar face returned to Gaffney in the Season 10 finale, who was none other than Dr. Reese (Rachel DiPillo). After Dr. Charles suspects that her daughter Anna tried to take her own life by not wearing the seat belt, she lashes out at him.

Reese advises him not to be a shrink and to talk to Anna like a supportive father. Charles makes good on this advice and the father and daughter resolve their differences.

The Chicago Med Season 10 finale ended with Hannah's pregnancy reveal. After it was revealed that she is pregnant, it was implied that Ripley might be the father of her child. However, the closing moments of the finale saw her walking to Archer and asking him to talk. Season 11 will likely solve the mystery of her baby's father.
