The official synopsis for Canaryville reads as follows:

''A homicide in the neighborhood where Burgess and Ruzek reside forces the team to investigate complicated relationships within the tight-knit community they call home.''

In the preview, Burgess can be seen questioning two potential suspects in the recent homicide of a woman named Sasha. As the detectives piece together the mystery of this murder, Burgess and Ruzek will be forced to suspect their own community members. The episode will deep dive into their emotional bonds as their community's loyalties are tested. The closed investigation room featured in the preview suggests that the upcoming episode will be intense and shine a special spotlight on two of its most beloved characters.

Torres struggled in Chicago PD Season 13 Episode 2

The latest episode in Chicago PD Season 13 was titled 'Open Wounds', referring to Dante Torres' physical and mental unhealed wounds in the episode. Following Torres' undercover mission in the same detention centre he was kept in as a child and his brutal witnessing of a personal informant's murder, he was having bouts of depression. The Intelligence officially returned on the case when one of Torres' neighbours asked for his help in her husband's abduction. The woman claimed that the cops have given up on this part of the town, leading to frequent abductions for money.

A run-in with one of the kidnappers led to a violent slash on Torres' arm, which became a weapon for him to punish himself. After he failed to help his neighbor and they discovered her husband's body in an old paper mill, Torres tampered with his wounds and repeatedly made them bleed. Thanks to an old victim, Torres finally caught the ringleader of this abduction operation, but was unable to stop another murder. In the final moments, Atwater advised Torres to get his act together and receive proper medical treatment.

Tune into Chicago PD Season 13 Episode 3 on NBC on October 15.
