James tells Gu-ho that Jae-hee resembles Yi-rang when she was her age. Yi-rang’s attention then shifts to the doctors who come to take a look at their patients. On one hand, Gu-ho’s doctor, Gwang-sik, appears to be exhausted, while on the other, Seong-woo looks so much better that Yi-rang’s attention shifts to him as well.
However, the reaction changes instantly when he touches Jae-hee’s head. Yi-rang then asks the girl about the doctor touching her head without her consent. She then learns that Jae-hee was suffering from a critical heart condition called COA, due to which she was in the hospital.

Just then, James and Yi-rang notice Jae-hee’s mother protesting outside the hospital and trying to beg any of the doctors to do her daughter’s surgery. At the same time, Gu-ho hears Seong-woo and Gwang-sik talking about how, due to exhaustion from doing too many surgeries, Gwang-sik has botched Jae-hee’s surgery.
