What happened in Episode 8 of Confidence Queen?

In Episode 8 of Confidence Queen, the team successfully lures Mystique's CEO, Gil Beauty, to the mountains, and with an elaborate historical story of a woman's beauty in the Joseon Dynasty, convinces her about the magical properties of water from a well that is situated near Yi-rang's fake house.

Further, they also hire several women with great skin to make her believe in their lie that the beautifying toner that Yi-rang uses is the best skin product and that she can use it for her deal with a popular French beauty company. James, as Mr. Gray, and Gu-ho, as his nephew, tell Gil Beauty that she can buy off Yi-rang's land for 3 billion, which will give her access to all the ingredients, including the water, to make the toner herself, and it will also help Yi-rang get rid of the debt that she has to pay because of her father.

However, Gil Beauty takes a U-turn and buys all the toner from the cafe to find out the ingredients of it, which would help her to make her own toner. But Yi-rang has added a rare plant extract that the beauty industry has not gotten their hands on yet. She is then again lured by Gu-ho to buy the mountain as someone was trying to destroy the well with the magical water. Gil-beauty falls for it and buys the whole land at 4.5 billion.

She is then seen making a deal with the French company and selling her beautifying toner to them. However, in the end, she discovers that everything was a lie. The toner, the well with the magical water, and even the French people. She was scammed just like she did to her customers.

At the end, the influencer whose skin was destroyed due to her products proves with evidence and witnesses that Gil Beauty had been lying to everyone, destroying her reputation.

In the upcoming episode, the team will target a man who had brought the painting that Yi-rang had seen on the walls of the mansion where she was kept after being abducted, which will get her closer to answers from her past.
