Actor Michael Aaron Milligan, who played Kyle in The Hunting Wives, recently opened up about his experience on the Netflix thriller, and his words suggest there may still be room for surprises ahead.

Michael Aaron Milligan weighs in on Kyle’s death and The Hunting Wives Season 2 hopes

When The Hunting Wives first dropped, few could have predicted just how dark Kyle's storyline would get. His bond with his sister Margo defined much of his arc, and yet his loyalty ultimately led him straight into tragedy.

In a chat with Us Weekly, Michael Aaron Milligan revealed he hadn't even known Kyle would be killed off when he joined The Hunting Wives. Milligan explained;

"I did buy the book. I did reach out to [author] May Cobb. I skimmed through the book but I ended up finishing after I filmed..."

He added that he avoided spoiling himself. He said;

"Sometimes when you're offered a part, they will send you all of the future episodes. In this case, they didn't. I read episode by episode as we shot, which was cool too. I kind of liked not knowing."

That shock carried into his own reaction to the season finale.

"I had a lot of questions. I was like, 'Oh, wow. This is overkill [with how Sophie killed Kyle]. I was like, The show is called The Hunting Wives and he doesn't die by a bullet?' But he's dead."

Still, Milligan hasn't ruled out a return. He teased the possibility of Kyle appearing in some form in The Hunting Wives Season 2, saying,

"So [I would love] to get a call [about season 2] - or maybe some spooky adventures with the ghost of Kyle...I'm sure they can get very, very creative."

How Kyle’s final scene reshaped Sophie and Margo’s story

Kyle's exit didn't just shock the fans with his death; it also turned Sophie and Margo's twisted relationship upside down. By the finale, Sophie discovered Margo was the one behind Abby's death.

Just as Sophie prepared to expose her, Kyle intervened. Instead of helping, his attempt to protect his sister sealed his fate when Sophie killed him in desperation.

For Milligan, Kyle's intentions were pure, even if the moment spiraled into chaos. He told Us Weekly;

"I think [Kyle's actions] were a little more innocent [than Sophie saw them]..."

He continued;

"He didn't have a gun. I think he truly did want to talk because there's nothing he wouldn't do for his sister. He would die for her — literally."

The actor went on to say;

"What I love about that is that Kyle just wants to explain himself the best way he can...He truly does mean well. He's got some redeeming qualities, and there's a lot of love in that man's heart."

This has left fans torn. Was Kyle a threat, or simply a man consumed by loyalty? The vagueness only strengthens speculation that The Hunting Wives Season 2 might revisit him even if only through memory, flashbacks, or Milligan's dream of a ghostly reappearance.

Michael Aaron Milligan's reflections make one thing clear: Kyle's shadow will loom large over The Hunting Wives Season 2, whether or not he physically returns. His death shook the story to its core, but the door remains open for creative twists.

As Milligan put it best, the team "can get very, very creative," and in a world as unpredictable as Maple Brook, no character is ever truly gone.
