ITVX’s Code of Silence has become popular for its new take on crime dramas. The show revolves around Alison Woods, a deaf worker at a police station, who is employed to investigate a criminal gang with her lip-reading skills.
However, she ends up developing feelings for Liam Barlow, a member of the gang. By the end of Season 1, Liam is sent to prison, leaving his future in the show uncertain. Now that the series has been renewed, actor Kieron Moore, who plays Liam, has spoken about whether he would return for Code of Silence Season 2.
In an interview with Collider, Moore said that he would love to reprise his role in the second season; however, it will ultimately depend on the storyline. At the same time, he feels there is still a lot left to explore about his character.
Kieron Moore is open to returning as Liam in Code of Silence Season 2
During the interview, Kieron Moore said that if the production team asks him to play Liam again in Code of Silence Season 2, he would gladly return to the series:
“I don’t know. I would love it if they asked for Liam to come back, if they could make it work.”
Moore added that there is still potential in Alison and Liam’s relationship, and it would be interesting to see how their dynamics change after all the hardships they have endured:
“I think there is a lot of room for Liam and Alison still. I think it would be interesting to see them both navigating their lives when she is hopefully qualified from her lip-reading course. What’s it like for Liam, after he spends time away? What's that relationship like?”
The actor further revealed that his family is already confident about his return in Code of Silence Season 2, as they believe that the plot is incomplete without Liam. However, it will eventually depend on the creators’ decision:
“I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this, but I’m going to say it. I always play it down, but my family are like, “They can’t do it without you. Everyone wants to see what happens.” It’s hard to look at it objectively like that, but I would love to see what our story looks like.”
Moore also talked about what could happen with his character in the second season. He concluded by saying that if the creators decide not to bring him back, they might introduce a new love interest for Alison in the story:
“I feel like there are so many questions still. It wouldn’t just be playing it safe. I don’t think he’d get out of prison and just fall in love. I think it would be a difficult thing to navigate. She was kidnapped and nearly killed by someone, and he goes to prison. But there’s a lot to offer for them both. I would love to come back. We’ll see. Maybe they’ll find another love interest.”
Code of Silence premiered on ITVX in May 2025 and was renewed for a second season in July. Apart from Moore, the show stars Rose Ayling-Ellis as Alison Woods, Charlotte Ritchie as DS Ashleigh Francis, Nathan Armarkwei Laryea as DC Ben Lawford, Andrew Buchan as DI James Marsh, Beth Goddard as Helen Redman, Joe Absolom as Braden Moore, and Andrew Scarborough as Joseph Holhurst.
Code of Silence is available to stream on BritBox.
