Criminal Code Season 2 concluded with some storylines definitively resolved and others left open for further exploration. Although there is no confirmation of the show being renewed for another season, the events of this season suggest the possibility of continuation, as the ending of Criminal Code Season 2 raises some unanswered questions.
This season picks up after the events of the first season, and one of the key goals of Sullen and Benecio is to capture Issac and Soulless. Since they only partially succeeded in their mission, let's now explore what happened at the end of Criminal Code Season 2.
The following article contains spoilers.
Issac manages to escape in Criminal Code Season 2
Criminal Code Season 2 features Rossi leading the Federal Police team alongside Suellen, Benicio, and other members as they try to catch the Ghost Gang operated by Isaac and the Ambassador. However, despite their best efforts, they remain largely unsuccessful in their mission, especially during the early episodes of the show.
Furthermore, the Professor is killed during a robbery at the Fortaleza Central Bank, executed by Isaac, his brother Gabriel, and other members of their team. The Professor's death occurs at the hands of Xuxa, a member of Isaac’s team. This loss has significant consequences for the police, resulting in Rossi's demotion, while Suellen and Benicio dedicate their lives to finding Xuxa.
They manage to catch Xuxa after discovering his whereabouts, but they become so consumed with finding the Professor’s killer that they neglect Issac. However, after several unsuccessful attempts, the police finally corner Issac as his brother Gabriel dies in a shootout. While Gabriel’s death saddens Issac and prompts him to reconsider his life choices, the police still fail to capture him. During a massive shootout at Santos port, Benicio leaves Suellen to confront Issac and pursues Soulless. Suellen kills Lobo but fails to capture Issac, who escapes.
Benicio kills Soulless in Criminal Code Season 2
Benicio has a personal vendetta against Soulless for killing his former partner in season 1. This motivates him to pursue Soulless, leaving Suellen with Issac and Lobo. As he chases Soulless to a riverbank, his goal is to send the criminal back to prison.
However, events do not unfold as planned. The two men engage in a fight, and Soulless tells Benicio that his actions are for his family. Their dialogue adds emotional depth to the fight sequence. Initially, Soulless appears to be dominating the fight, with Benicio succumbing to him.
But in the end, Benecio stabs Soulless, surprising him and sealing his fate. As he bleeds on the riverbank, Soulless gives his necklace to Benecio, asking him to pass it to his son. The mention of Soulless’s son stirs Benecio’s memories of his own son, with whom he has a rather complicated relationship. By the end of Criminal Code Season 2, Isaac is shown to be at Italio's house, someone with whom he is likely to form his next partnership, having already killed the Ambassador.
Criminal Code can be streamed on Netflix.
