The final 1:1 survival match placed him against the so-called Culinary Monster, and even the judges admitted the call for elimination was extremely close.Paik Jong-won initially leaned toward Son's plate, but Ahn Sung-jae stepped in after noticing a small issue in the sauce. Son added cognac late in the process, which slightly diluted the flavor and shifted the final call made by the judges.
