It seems that Danny Ramirez has exited The Last of Us Season 3. However, it's not because of bad blood, but rather scheduling conflicts. Nexus Point News is the first entertainment portal to publish this report; however, Variety soon clarified that Ramirez's exit had to do with his schedule. It should be noted that he played a supporting role in the series rather than one of the important ones.

For those who don't know, Ramirez debuted as Manny in The Last of Us Season 2 as one of Abby's friends and comrades. Now, it seems that the character will be played by a different actor in The Last of Us Season 3, given that Manny is one of the many casualties in The Last of Us Part II.

The Last of Us Season 3: Who is Danny Ramirez's Manny?

Ramirez appeared sparingly throughout The Last of Us Season 2. He is one of the last surviving fireflies in the opening scene of the season 2 premiere. He has joined Abby on her quest to kill Joel. He is in the room when Abby kills Joel in the second episode of The Last of Us Season 2. HBO described Manny's character like this:

“A loyal soldier whose sunny outlook belies the pain of old wounds and a fear that he will fail his friends when they need him most.”

We already know that The Last of Us Season 3 will have Abby at the center instead of Ellie. We know the timeline of the upcoming season. It will follow Abby after she killed Joel, and The Last of Us Season 3 finale will replay the events of the season 2 finale, but from Kaitlyn Dever's character's perspective.

Apart from that, we don't know much about season 3 as the series has not started filming yet. Craig Mazin also revealed that he did not know how much screentime Ellie and her supporting characters would have in the upcoming season in May this year:

“Even if I thought I knew now exactly how it was going to go, I’m experienced enough to know that two weeks from now we may have a different idea of how it should go. All I can say is we haven’t seen the last of Kaitlyn Dever and we haven’t seen the last of Bella Ramsey, and we haven’t seen the last of Isabela Merced, and we haven’t seen the last of a lot of people who are currently dead in the story.”

Thus, when season 3 returns, we will see a new actor play Manny, who has not been cast yet. Apart from Danny Ramirez, everyone else is returning for the third season.

“20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.”

We don't know much about season 3. Binge the first two seasons on HBO Max as we wait for the third one.
