Stranger Things season 5 is getting ready for its November 2025 release. Almost nine years after the popular sci-fi/horror Netflix show began streaming on Netflix, the Duffer Brothers are set to tie all the storylines together with the fifth and final season. Jim Hopper actor David Harbour recently revealed what he felt on the set of the final season on the last day.
Harbour sat down for an interview with ScreenRant this week. Actually, the actor was a part of the Rose City Comic Con panel. In that panel that was hosted by ScreenRant journalist Joe Deckelmeier, the Stranger Things actor teased big things for the fifth season's finale without giving anything away. Joe Deckelmeier asked:
"How hard was it for you to say goodbye to the character that final day on set?"
David Harbour answered this question like this:
"I mean, it's so surreal... for me, reactions are always delayed. I almost couldn't process it. I mean, I can't tell you what our last day on set was, because it's a huge spoiler, but it was a very big culmination...and I couldn't believe that that was our last day. I was like, 'Oh my god. They really did time it so that the biggest thing that happens in the series for him, in a certain way, is this moment.' And so I was really focused on playing the crap out of that moment too. And then it just happens and it's just over. And I've known those guys, the Duffer Brothers, for 10 years, and we've been through so much together, and that cast and that crew, it's just like, it's really hard to process. It took me, like, another six months to really know how I felt to be honest. It really just just passed through so quickly. It felt very, very surreal."
Explaining David Harbour's Stranger Things Season 5 finale comments:
As Stranger Things Season 5 approaches closer and closer, fans are worried about their favorite characters' fates in the final season. Therefore, we can expect big things for Hopper in this final season.
But we won't learn what the big change regarding his character will be until December 31, 2025, when the final episode will stream on Netflix. But we can expect big things from the ending, as Harbour described the conclusion of the series as a "culmination," meaning Hopper's character arc led to his currently unknown fate in Stranger Things Season 5.

The fifth season will give fans further insight into the Upside Down dimension. This has fans excited because they will finally learn what the Duffer Brothers wrote in a twenty-five-page document regarding the lore of the mysterious Upside Down dimension. The synopsis for the story reads:
“The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.”
As mentioned earlier, the fifth season will stream in November. As that happens, binge the previous four seasons of Stranger Things on Netflix.
