Dexter: Resurrection has been slowly making us believe in something and then proving us wrong the next instant. Episode 6 was no different. It gave us one of the season’s biggest twists so far. It is the kind of twist that makes you go back and replay scenes just to check if you missed the clues. With the Gemini Killer reveal, everyone is now wondering what's next. It’s clear that Dexter is heading into dangerous territory where even he might not have the upper hand.

In Dexter: Resurrection Episode 6, we saw the aftermath of Mia’s shocking prison death, which had Leon Prater’s shadow all over it even if nothing was said outright. Charley’s visit to Mia in the prison and then to that underground gambling ring made Leon’s connections very clear. He is someone who clearly knows more and does more than he lets on. And while Dexter is busy trying to keep Harrison safe and deal with his own code, Leon seems to be playing a much bigger game in the background.

The man first appeared in the episode where we saw the serial killers’ get together at his lavish party. And now, Peter Dinklage has made Leon one of the most intriguing characters in Dexter: Resurrection.

Dexter: Resurrection - Peter Dinklage on stepping into Leon Prater’s world

The Emmy-winning actor, Peter Dinklage, has delivered some really unforgettable performances. He was the fan favorite Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones and also appeared in movies like Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and Cyrano. So when Dexter: Resurrection brought him in to play Leon Prater, fans knew we were in for something special.

In his chat with Dexter Daily, Dinklage described Leon as “a very complicated man” who’s made the deliberate choice to go down a “dark rabbit hole.” He shared:

"Leon Prater is a very complicated man, and he has chosen to go down the dark rabbit hole. He has never committed a violent crime himself, but he likes to be around it secondhand."

That detail alone makes him one of the creepiest characters in the Dexter: Resurrection. Talking about the show itself, Dinklage said:

"The great part about Dexter are these new villains that come in every season. It's a real smorgasbord of challenge. It's a nice recipe.

He added:

"It's a thrill to be part of the Dexter world. It's such a known zeitgeist of a show. They always attracted great actors, and it's such fun, smart writing. For me as an actor, all you have is the dialogue, and this is just exquisite writing and well drawn characters."

All of that tells us one thing, Peter Dinklage is genuinely having a blast stepping into Leon Prater’s shoes. He’s playing a man who keeps his hands clean but surrounds himself with blood. And maybe even nudges the knife closer when no one’s looking. Leon might turn out to be just a bystander or the mastermind orchestrating the murders. But we’ll have to wait for that and see for ourselves. Dexter: Resurrection returns with its next episode on August 15, 2025.
