Did you also think Love Island USA star Ace's "slow burn" excuse was just a way to keep things open with Chelley even after picking Amaya?

After choosing Amaya instead of Chelley during the recoupling ceremony, Love Island USA star Ace's actions have been confusing. While he wanted to explore his connection with Chelley, he chose Amaya and left the viewers and Islanders scratching their heads.

It was quite obvious that he wanted to explore his connection with Chelley, as it was visible from his actions and how he was spending more time with her than anyone else. But still, he chose Amaya, maybe to show he was "hard to get" or to show Chelley that he could choose whoever he wanted and still pursue his connection with her, and to show his dominant side.

No matter what the Love Island USA star might have planned, it does not seem to be working out on his side. Because he chose Amaya and their connection has not been going so well, he has been receiving quite a lot ofheat from the fans. His words that he was a "slow burn" now seem like an excuse for keeping his connection with Chelley still in play.

Love Island USA Season 7: Ace choosing Amaya over Chelley, and still pursuing Chelley in the villa, has not been a good look

It all started when Ace chose new bombshell Amaya as his connection, even when he wanted to explore his connection with Chelley. It was not fair for Amaya, Chelley, or Austin, who chose Chelley after Ace chose Amaya. Since then, rather than focusing on Love Island USA star Amaya, Ace has been spending more time with Chelley, talking to her and sharing things with her.

When Austin noticed that, he did not like that, obviously, and he was also quite vocal about it with fellow Islanders. As for Ace, he has not been on good terms with Amaya, even though she is his current partner. He could be seen getting into arguments over what she likes to call her partner. Things like that have not been working out on Ace's side.

Since he has been spending more time with Love Island USA star Chelley, her partner, Austin, is not getting a fair chance at knowing her better. Not only does Ace seem not to be taking things seriously in the villa, but it surely raises the question of why he is there.

It is still unclear as to why he chose Amaya over Chelley, and is still pursuing Chelley. Additionally, because of his connection with Chelley, he didn't allow Amaya enough to explore this connection with her, and he didn't even try to give their connection a fair shot. When Amaya tried to spend time with him and talk on a deeper level, he didn't seem particularly interested.

Love Island USA has been a platform for many Islanders to find genuine connections. Additionally, there have been remarkable incidents where Islanders have found really good friends from the villa. But when things like this happen, similar to what Ace has been doing, it doesn't seem to be that he is not in the mindset of wanting to find genuine connections.

It would be interesting to see how events will unfold at the next recoupling ceremony. If Ace chooses Chelley or someone else over her, just like he did with Amaya, it would be something to look out for.
