With five episodes in, Yes, Chef! has featured more twists and drama involving cheftestants. One of the incidents that caught viewers' eyes was Chef Chris getting blindsided by Chef Michelle. It happened during the show's second episode when she used all the bread to make her sandwich.

While Chef Chris was also supposed to use the bread in his dish, he didn't get any. Seeing what Michelle did, her actions didn't sit well with Chris, nor did her grilled sandwich work well for her. Hence, Chef Chris had to change his plans, as there was not much bread left after Michelle used it all.

As a result, Yes, Chef!'s Chris thought of making a mushroom dish. Witnessing how he had to change his plans because of Michelle's actions, the judges still overlooked Chef Chris's efforts and last-minute dish preparation. One of the judges, Martha Stewart, stated that Chris's dish was a "little chalky."

Yes, Chef!: Chef Chris's efforts and quick thinking deserved appreciation

Yes, Chef! Season 1 Episode 2 featured an incident involving Chef Chris and Chef Michelle. Originally, Chris was going to make mushroom bruschetta while Michelle planned for a grilled cheese sandwich.

The decision behind choosing a simpler dish was that Michelle, wanted her teammates to have enough time to prepare their dishes. However, it didn't go well. As she prepared her grilled cheese, there was no bread left for Chef Chris to make his bruschetta.

As a result, he had to change his plans and could not go with his original dish. Later on, he decided to make another mushroom dish. As fans witnessed, it was not his original plan to make it, but somehow he managed to pull it off. Still, his efforts were not appreciated by the judges.

After tasting his dish, Martha Stewart remarked that his dish was:

"A little chalky on the tongue."

Even when Chef Chris felt betrayed and blindsided by Chef Michelle's actions, he did his best and came up with another dish. When he was about to lose his calm, Chef Lee advised him to turn his anger into motivation and work on another dish.

Additionally, making a grilled cheese was not Michelle's original plan. She was called out for that by Yes, Chef! judges. She received criticism for her sandwich; it was too "greasy," and judges also remarked that it was not her only duty to manage the timing.

Even though later on, Michelle went to have a conversation with Chris about what had happened, it didn't make any difference. As for Chris's side, he confessed to the cameras that he often "holds grudges." He also stated that the bridge between him and Michelle was burned.

Yes, Chef!'s Chef Michelle also felt that whatever happened with the bread might affect her cooking. She apologized to Chef Chris about the incident. She also shared with the cameras that she should not have been selfish. Because, after her, more cheftestants were waiting for their turn to prepare their dishes.

Moreover, being a team leader and using up certain key ingredients while there are more chefs, still waiting for their turn, is not justified. Michelle should have been aware of what her teammates were going to prepare.

Yes, Chef! is now streaming on NBC.
