"Little twists and turns": Yes Chef! star Michelle Francis reflects on her elimination

Yes Chef! Episode 5 aired on May 12, 2025, and featured Chef Michelle Francis' elimination. It happened after her dish was referred to as the weakest among her teammates.

In her May 24, 2025, interview with Cine Geek host Mark Nieves, Michelle Francis reflected on her journey and the elimination. When Mark mentioned her elimination as she got "thrown under the bus," she responded:

"There's always going to be like little twists and turns and monkey wrenches and, you know, all different things. And, you know, so you'll see it's...it doesn't mean that, you know, maybe they're threatened by you. That's why they kick you off or maybe, you know, whatever. So you never know."

Yes Chef!: Chef Michelle Francis opens up about her time on the show

Despite Chef Michelle Francis' being for a short amount of time on Yes Chef!, she enjoyed the competition. Fans witnessed her early elimination from the show during the third episode.

She was asked about her experience on the show and how she felt seeing herself on television. Chef Michelle said that it was an "out-of-body" experience. She also said that since seeing herself, she has become more aware of herself.

"You know, it's...it's kind of...you're...out of body experience. Because you're standing there and you're looking at yourself and you're like, God, do I really look like that? Oh my God, I should probably not make that face anymore. Oh, my hair looks really bad there," revealed Michelle.

She added that seeing herself on TV, one can't "really know" how everybody was going to look at you. Because of that, she became "more aware" of herself.

"And I think the show made me more aware of how I interact with people and how I have to change that. I have to work on myself and make sure I don't do that anymore," she said.

Further in her interview, Chef Michelle also talked about going up against Chef Kizuchi, and more. She stated that he was an "amazing chef." She also talked about fellow chefs and said that while being in the show, they were all "amazing chefs."

While not revealing who would be winning the competition, Yes Chef! star said that it would be great once everyone will learn about who won. Hence, she said everyone should keep watching the competition and wait until the winner is announced.

Before entering the competition, she said it was more than overcoming "personal struggles." For the fans who might not know, Yes Chef! was Michelle's first time on a culinary competition.
