Chef Julia from Yes, Chef! recently shared what it was like on the NBC show. Even though she was eliminated during last week's episode, Julia only had good things to say about her time on the show and expressed how it gave her a chance to make new friends in the culinary community.

The toughness on Yss, Chef! was amped up recently, and it was all on the judges to decide who went home next. The team captains also realized that they had to make the dishes according to the judge's requirements.

In the previous episode last week, Chef Julia, the captain of the Green Team, was nominated for elimination by judges Martha Stewart and José Andrés. She had decided to make a gem lettuce salad with grilled oysters. Her teammates, Chef Zain Ismail and Chef Ronny Miranda, joined her on the chopping block.

This is a pre-filmed season and Julia, and since filming wrapped, Julia has been in touch with her co-stars from Yes, Chef!. Talking about the same, she expressed,

"I’ve made 11 best new friends for life and we’ve all kind of helped each other, like we’ve helped each other get new jobs or ideas or ingredients. We’re one big Yes, Chef! family.”

Chef Julia from Yes, Chef! gives behind-the-scenes

Julia is currently residing in New York City, where she works as a private chef. She deals with dinner parties and other events.

During the final challenge on Yes, Chef! episode 4, when Julia was eliminated, she got a twist in ingredients from the two Most Valuable Chefs, who were from the Blue Team. They gave her vanilla to use, and Ronny was given dark chocolate. As for Zain, she was given what Julia deemed the toughest one, Licorice. She said,

"I thought that the vanilla was actually not that difficult of a twist, and I’m super happy that I got it... She probably needed more time to get the essence of that licorice into her cream and into her sauce."

Commenting on Ronny's ingredient of dark chocolate, Julia said that it is not a very tough ingredient to work with, as there are various ways it can be used. Sharing unseen behind-the-scenes info about what Ronny did while preparing his dish, Julia said,

"Dark chocolate, there are a lot of ways to manipulate it. The thing that they didn’t show on Ronny’s dish, which I thought was amazing, is that he…cooked down mirin because we didn’t have sugar as an option, so he took Japanese rice wine and cooked it down to become simple syrup for his dish."

This was a difficult challenge for the three chefs as half of their ingredients, such as garlic, among others, were taken away. They had a limited set while adding a mystery and bizarre one on top, all thanks to the Blue Team.

Yes, Chef! drops new episodes weekly on Mondays at 10 PM Eastern Time on NBC. These installments are later available to watch on Peacock the next day.
