Doc Season 2 Episode 2 begins with Amy still shaken from the premiere episode’s shocking hostage crisis. Trying to get back to a routine, Amy’s shattered memory continues to interfere with everyday interactions, especially during fleeting, vivid episodes involving Joan.

These images, poorly defined yet intense with emotion, appear triggered both by the arrival of a new intern named Hannah, whose determination is paired with her eagerness to conceal a hurtful family secret.

Amy's key medical case during this episode is helping a pregnant woman who appears stable initially but rapidly becomes symptomatic with alarming issues. Both Joan and Amy intervene, balancing professional skill with unresolved conflict between the two.

With Joan’s own health struggles, a subtle conflict arises, and her unwillingness to tolerate sympathy creates a demanding tone for the department.

Meanwhile, the story of Hannah gets more dramatic. She searches further into her family history and finds herself manipulating co-workers, raising doubts among her colleagues, and pitting herself against both Amy and Joan.

Doc Season 2 Episode 2 interweaves the undercover activities of Hannah and the mysterious flashes that Amy gets while handling her with great skill.

Meanwhile, Dr. Gina Walker encourages Amy, providing advice and warding off her own fears regarding Joan's aspirations and the changing power structure of the hospital. Michael, as Chief Medical Officer, becomes both a buffer and a barrier for Amy, enforcing the challenge she has in regaining her past job and identity.

A crucial scene finds Amy behaving recklessly during a complicated delivery, drawing on instinct as memories strive to emerge. Joan observes, caught between admiration of Amy's independence and fear of her sporadic flashes.

The suspense rises when events compel Amy to contradict Joan's diagnosis before the staff, compelling Amy to risk her fragile authority in order to defend her patient.

The climax of Doc Season 2 Episode 2 comes with the unintentional release of information from Hannah that threatens her own reputation as much as it fuels Amy's unresolved mystery of her past and Joan's potential secrets. In a night scene showdown, Joan confesses to Amy that she herself has declining health, yet refuses assistance.

Amy has no choice but to grapple with new enigmas about her mentor, while the drama surrounding Hannah only serves to further disrupt the already turbulent dynamic of the hospital.
