After Luther shoots Ingrid, she is taken to the hospital where she works as a pediatrician. Her injuries are nearly fatal, and she falls into a coma. However, she survives in the end. When Paige reunites with her father, we learn a shocking truth about Ingrid. Turns out, it was Ingrid who killed Aaron to protect her daughter.

However, when Ingrid wakes up from the coma and recovers well enough, Simon asks her about Aaron's murder. Ingrid confesses that she killed Aaron after Paige told her that he abused her. Run Away: Is Aaron Ingrid's son?

By the end of the series, we learn a shocking truth about Ingrid and Aaron. Turns out, Aaron is Ingrid's son. How? Simon, still looking for answers about the cult, finds out via Ingrid's sister, Yvonne, that Ingrid did not talk about her past, especially her modelling days. Later that day, he decides to have a chat with Paige.

Simon tells Paige that even though Aaron was her partner, he found certain things quite odd, such as a separate mattress and Paige's abuser revealing that Aaron addressed her as her sister. Paige finally tells Simon the truth that she found out via a genealogy website that Aaron was her half-sibling, which means their mother is Ingrid. She further reveals that Ingrid never went for modelling in the past; instead, she joined a cult. There, she accidentally got pregnant by The One and had a baby. They lied to her that it was a stillborn, and later, she escaped the cult. Turns out the baby is none other than Aaron.

Paige was heartbroken when she learnt that Aaron was her half-brother, as it was he who introduced her to drugs. Paige revealed that she confronted Ingrid about it, but she said that she was told that the baby was stillborn. Paige utters to Simon,

"I'd driven my mum to kill somone."

To which Simon adds a chilling note,

"She killed her own son."

Paige begged her father to never share this with Ingrid, since it might hurt her.
