FX's The Bear Season 4 is finally streaming on Hulu, and the future of Carmy, Sydney, and Richie's restaurant is even more uncertain than ever.

One of the major questions after the Season 3 finale was, does Sydney leave The Bear Season 4? The Season 3 finale saw Sydney at a crossroads as she had an exciting new job opportunity to lead a team of chefs at Adam's new restaurant.

While Season 4 took its sweet time in revealing Sydney's decision, it was in favor of Carmy's restaurant. By the Season 4 finale, it was confirmed that Sydney is not leaving The Bear. In fact, she just became a co-owner at the restaurant, suggesting a new leadership role for her in the next chapter.

More on this in our story.

Does Sydney leave The Bear Season 4? Details explored

The Season 3 finale ended on many cliffhangers, especially for Sydney, who was confronted with a difficult choice. On the one hand, she had the co-owners' partnership agreement at The Bear, and on the other, she had the opportunity to become a chef de cuisine at Chef Adam Shapiro's new restaurant.

While the second offer was more promising and would confirm a higher pay, position, and a better working environment, she was still inclined to choose The Bear family because of the love she felt for the place and the family she made with the people there.

After working up the nerve to make a decision throughout The Bear Season 4, the penultimate episode finally saw her deciding to stay at The Bear, and she turned down Adam's offer to work at his new restaurant.

This decision was prompted because she had The Bear's best interest at heart, and her commitment towards her and Carmy's partnership was strong. However, when she was finally about to sign the document, she learned that Carmy had pulled his name out of the deed, making Sydney's partnership only with Jimmy and Natalie.

This was definitely a blow for Sydney, which resulted in one of the most brutal confrontations in Season 4.

The Bear Season 4: Sydney and Carmy's intense confrontation led to the restaurant's new partnership

After being betrayed by Carmy, Sydney directly confronted him in The Bear Season 4 finale. She accused him of keeping the information about his leaving the restaurant from her. However, Carmy explained that he will help The Bear pay off its debt, and only then will he leave for good.

After an intense argument, where Carmy provided his reasons for leaving the culinary world, Sydney finally realized that the kitchen was a dysfunctional place with Carmy. While Sydney was not ready to take up the responsibility of the restaurant without Carmy, he showed immense confidence in her and said:

“Any chance of any kind of good in this building, it started when you walked in, and any possibility of it surviving, it’s with you.''

Still hurt and unconvinced, Sydney only got calm when Richie entered the conversation, making it even more heated in The Bear Season 4 finale. After making his peace with Carmy's decision, he also expressed his confidence in Sydney:

“Because we still got you [referring to Sydney], right? Please tell me you’re not quitting.''

This was all the push Sydney needed to lead, but she asks Carmy to make Richie a fellow co-owner with her, suggesting a change in leadership at the restaurant in The Bear Season 5.
