Noah Hawley recently teased about when Alien: Earth Season 2 might happen.

FX's sci-fi horror series, Alien: Earth, ended with a most gritty and intriguing cliffhanger in the finale episode on September 23, 2025. In the episode, Wendy, with Joe's help, put Kavalier, Kirsh, and others in a single cell, declaring that now they were going to rule.

The ending has led viewers to anticipate Alien: Earth Season 2 of the show. However, a Season 2 has not been announced yet, and while talking to the Hollywood Reporter, creator Noah Hawley confessed that he is not sure when the sci-fi series will be back with a season 2. He stated:

"I wouldn’t read too much into that. I don’t have a destination in mind. I don’t know how long it will take me to get there."

More on this in our story.

Noah Hawley comments on when Alien: Earth Season 2 will happen

In the finale of Alien: Earth, Wendy took the lead by locking the CEO of Prodigy Corporation with the likes of Morrow, Kirsh, and others. This resulted in creator Hawley having more room for exploration in the next season, as the cliffhanger might seem hopeful for Wendy and others, but also left hints at the arrival of more difficulties ahead with the Yutani troops' landing. In the Hollywood Reporter interview, he said:

"This whole thing is a proof-of-concept experiment to see if enough people on the planet want to watch an Alien TV show to justify the expense of a second and third season of an Alien TV show."

Hawley also shared that this was not a "closed-ended" season, leaving so much more to explore in future seasons. He also revealed that right now, he is excited to be able to present a show about Aliens that gives another perspective to peer into what lies ahead for humanity. He said:

"Right now, I feel flush with enthusiasm for this hybrid show that I’ve made between Alien and looking at the future of humanity in a way that feels entertaining. So I don’t know."

He further added that he is hopeful that in the upcoming months, he might get some kind of answer about the future of Alien: Earth and whether he would be asked to create an Alien: Earth Season 2 or not. He said:

"I think we’ve launched incredibly well. I’m certainly hoping that it’s not a long nail biter of “Can we do this again?" My hope is certainly in the next couple of months to get some kind of sign from them as to whether I should get another job or get back to work."

Therefore, as per creator Hawley, in a couple of months, the anticipation of both the fans and the creator of the show will be over after the future of Alien: Earth is announced.
