Duster Season 1 Episode 4 brought more problems for Jim Ellis as he continued to help Nina track the crime syndicate boss Ezra Saxon.
After Jim went back on his promise with Mad Roul to join his drug cartel and instead helped Nina with her investigation, Roul was not happy. He arranges for his top man, Enrique the Blade, to go after Jim and track him down.
When Jim asks Nina for help, she refuses, saying she has too much on her plate for now, following the investigation and Breen's psychotic event. She asks him to find some evidence against Saxon, and they team up.
Jim knows her way around Royce, Saxon's son, as he has helped him in the past on multiple occasions. He takes a road trip with Royce to extract information about his father on the way.
However, he learns that Royce is actually here to pick up a luxury car from an auto repair shop, where the Blade finally finds him and the two men fight.
Here is the complete recap of Duster Season 1 Episode 4.
Duster Season 1 Episode 4 recap: Jim makes a deal with Enrique The Blade
While Mad Roul sent Enrique the Blade to eliminate Jim, the latter managed to work his way through it. While on his road trip with Royce, Jim encounters Blade, who is here to take him to his boss.
However, when they stop their fight to take a break and have a drink, they both discuss the poor conditions of their jobs, which offer no upward mobility. This gives Jim an idea, and he offers to give Royce's luxury car to Blade in exchange for his life.
In addition, he also apologizes to him for creating problems in his world by going back on the promise made to Mad Roul.
However, Duster Episode 4 takes a wild turn when the men realize their car has already been stolen and then begin a high-speed chase. While the thieves split into two cars, the Blade manages to stop both of them without harming Royce's luxury car.
Jim hands over the luxury car's keys to The Blade, hoping this will get him off his back.
Duster Season 1 Episode 4: Nina follows Breen's footsteps in the investigation
FBI agent Leland Breen, who was initially handling Ezra Saxon's case, ended up in a psychiatric ward in Duster Episode 2, following which Nina and Awan took the case into their hands. With no leads in sight, they decide to follow Breen's orders and follow the numbers, which are actually coordinates.
Nina and Awan follow the coordinates to reach a hidden place, where they find a videotape. While the tape is distorted, they manage to decipher this from it:
"Expose Xavier and his network. Until then, trust no one."
While Breen couldn't work on the case anymore, he made sure that Saxon got the end he deserved. The videotape is the first major clue that will bring Nina close to solving the mystery of the crime boss.
Elsewhere, Izzy is frustrated with the conditions of the female drivers and takes this matter to her union leader. However, he blows her off without even listening to her complaints, which makes her more determined to convince other female drivers to stand up against inequality.
