Ahead of Elsbeth's Season 3 premiere, CBS's dramedy series starring Carrie Preston has added three new faces to the star-studded cast list. Even though the new additions are not regulars, these guests' roles will stir up drama and thrill in the upcoming season.
As per Deadline, Lois Smith, Dianne Wiest, and Tony Hale have joined the cast (guest roles) for Elsbeth Season 3. This is not the first time that Elsbeth had roped in guest stars. Popular faces, including Michael Emerson, Mathew Broderick, Mary-Louise Parker, and Stephen Moyer, have been a part of the dramedy series. For Elsbeth fans, these guest roles have been an anchor of the series.
A spin-off of The Good Wife, Elsbeth delves into the life of the titular lead, who's an unorthodox attorney and an impeccable detective who uses her observations and experience to help the NYPD solve crimes. Unlike most detective shows, this series does not follow the whodunit format; instead, it first showcases the crime and the criminals behind it, followed by how the detectives solve it.
Season 3 has already roped in several guest stars which including Annaleigh Ashford, William Jackson Harper, Stephen Colbert, and Andy Richter, to name a few.

Elsbeth Season 3: Lois Smith, Dianne Wiest, and Tony Hale join CBS's dramedy series as guest stars
Lois Arlene Smith, the 94-year-old veteran actor, is roped in to play Delores Feinn. She is set to appear in Elsbeth Season 3 Episode 5. Delores is a keen supporter of the Pidgeon Press, a New York City poetry journal that is led by a character portrayed by William Jackson Harper. Delores' promise to leave most of her wealth to Pidgeon Press after her death might be one of the crucial plots of the episode.
Smith needs no introduction. She has been a part of several projects, including True Blood, The Inheritance, The Grapes of Wrath, Twister, and Minority Report, to name a few.
While Dianne Evelyn Weist is set to play Constance Mary Cabot, a Reverend Mother of a convent. She is set to appear in Elsbeth Season 3 Episode 7. When a sudden hurdle (a pop star) threatens the peace and life of the sisters in the convent, Mother Constance refuses to back down and is set to save her convent by any means.
Born on March 28, 1948, the 77-year-old Academy Award-winning actress has been a part of several notable projects. This includes Hannah and Her Sisters, Bullets Over Broadway, Parenthood, The Birdcage, Edward Scissorhands, to name a few. Some of her recent projects include Only Murders in the Building, Mayor of Kingstown, and Apartment 7 A. She is also set to appear in a project titled Practical Magical 2.

Tony Hale is set to portray the role of Craig Hollis, the CEO of a FinTech organization. He is set to appear in Episode 6. When Hollis harbors the fear of the eat the rich wave, he makes a fancy safehouse for himself to escape in case of emergency.
Hale is a popular 54-year-old Emmy-winning actor-comedian who is well known for his roles in Veep, Arrested Development, American Ultra, Opus, Sketch, and The Decameron, to name a few.
How to watch Elsbeth Season 3?
Elsbeth Season 3 will premiere on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 9:30 PM ET on CBS. However, it will then move to its regular week schedule slot. New episodes will release every Thursday at 10 PM ET from October 16, 2025. Additionally, you can also stream the episodes on Paramount+.
