Netflix’s Emily in Paris has never shied away from messy, emotionally layered storytelling beneath its glossy Parisian façade. Across its seasons, the rom-com drama has tackled complicated relationship dynamics, unexpected career turns and even nuanced pregnancy storylines that add depth to its ensemble cast. As the series continues to evolve, fans have become increasingly attentive to every narrative detail, especially when it comes to characters’ personal lives and the actors who portray them.

One question that has recently sparked curiosity online is whether Ashley Park, who plays the sharp, stylish and endlessly charismatic Mindy Chen, is pregnant in Emily in Paris. Despite the show’s history of exploring pregnancy through certain characters, Mindy’s arc does not include such a storyline. On screen, Mindy continues to be defined by her independence, vulnerability, ambition and a steamy new romance with Alfie (Emily's ex-boyfriend) in the latest season.

While Mindy (or Ashley Park) is not pregnant in Emily in Paris, the show featured a complicated pregnancy storyline between Camille and Gabriel, which tested their relationship and further complicated their love triangle with Emily.

More on the show's messy pregnancy storyline in our story.

Exploring the pregnancy storyline in Emily in Paris

While Netflix's fashionable drama is popular for concluding its seasons on a jaw-dropping note, Emily in Paris Season 3 certainly surprised fans with a shocking conclusion. After two seasons of a complicated love triangle, a will-they-won't-they romance between Gabriel and Emily and an awkward friendship pact between Emily and Camille, the third season ended in an almost wedding ceremony between Gabriel and Camille. While the talented chef was ready to take his vows with Camille, she had doubts about his lingering feelings for her friend and put a halt to the ceremony.

While this was shocking enough, the final moments of Season 3 saw Gabriel reveal the details about Camille's pregnancy to Emily. After the lovers confessed their pent-up feelings for one another, Gabriel revealed Camille returned from Greece to share this news with the father of her child:

"She came back to tell me that... she's pregnant.''

Emily in Paris wrapped its pregnancy storyline with another shocking twist

While the third chapter concluded on this shocking note, Emily in Paris Season 4 returned with yet another (and bigger) bombshell, complicating this pregnancy storyline even further. As the fourth chapter revealed, Camille was never pregnant with Gabriel's child as it was a fake positive. However, when she returned to Paris and saw Gabriel's excitement about their child, she decided to continue this lie, complicating the dynamics of the love triangle.

While Gabriel spent the fourth season navigating his true feelings for Emily and his duty towards Camille, he was left heartbroken when the truth came to light. Since Gabriel always wanted to experience fatherhood and nurture a family with his partner in Emily in Paris, Camille's insensitive lie shook the foundations of their relationship, resulting in a messy breakup. In an interview with ET, showrunner Darren Star revealed Gabriel's expectations with Camille's pregnancy and why it left him shattered and vulnerable:

"It's very clear in season 3 that it's a big dream of his. He wants to be a father and I think he was excited and is excited about the idea of fatherhood.''

However, the show had other plans in store for Gabriel as the chef broke up with Camille after the fake pregnancy reveal, with the latter leaving the city to expand her horizons further. After four seasons of this messy love triangle and a complicated pregnancy storyline, actress Camille Razat bid goodbye to fans.

Addressing Camille's absence in Emily in Paris Season 5, Star told Radio Times:

“I think Camille's storyline was a wonderful storyline, but I think it ran its course by the end of season 4, so it opened up some new doors for us.”

While the three-way love story between Camille, Gabriel and Emily might be over for now, the show has officially got its new love triangle in Mindy, Alfie and Nico, who will return for even more chaos in the sixth season of the series.

Emily in Paris Seasons 1-5 are streaming on Netflix.
