Emily in Paris cannot be imagined without the duo of Emily and Gabriel. But is the latest teaser hinting at that? Well, Emily may move on from Gabriel, but we are definitely not moving on from the beloved pair that we rooted so much for back in Season 1 through Season 4.

Fans are once again caught in the world of love, fashion, and life choices as Emily in Paris gears up for Season 5. The question on everyone’s mind is whether Emily is really moving on from Gabriel. The new teaser shows her starting a new chapter in Rome. That is far away from the Parisian mess she left behind. She has seen Marcello, and this is a new vibe that we are yet to get used to. It looks as if she is finally ready to start again. But is anything even predictable with this show?

The teaser focuses on Emily’s Roman chapter. And Lucas Bravo, who plays Gabriel, is nowhere to be seen. His absence has sparked endless discussions online. Fans are wondering if this means Gabriel is out of the picture. But official updates from Netflix confirm that Bravo is still part of the cast. So even if the teaser paints a picture of Emily moving on, a lot is happening that we need to prepare ourselves for. Emily in Paris might be hiding something interesting up its sleeves.

Emily in Paris: Lucas Bravo addresses his Season 5 teaser absence

Emily in Paris fans aren't going to let this go easily. They were quick to notice that Lucas Bravo did not appear in the new teaser. When asked about it, Bravo decided to keep things mysterious. He told E! News that he couldn’t say anything about what’s coming next:

"I would love to tell you something. I like the fact that I'm not in the trailer and that it creates a conversation, and I'm gonna keep the conversation running. I won't say anything."

That one comment was enough to fuel endless theories. Some thought he had quit. Others believed his absence was intentional to protect a major plot twist. Netflix’s Tudum confirmed that Gabriel is still very much a part of the story and that his actions from last season will have consequences. So a secret could be well in the way for us.

Lucas Bravo had earlier spoken about feeling uncertain about Gabriel’s narrative. He admitted that at one point, he questioned if returning even made sense. Still, he chose to come back for Season 5. That alone says a lot. The show has always used Emily and Gabriel’s complicated chemistry as the emotional center of the story. It would be hard to imagine Emily in Paris without that push and pull between them. Even if Emily starts seeing Marcello in Rome, Gabriel is not that easy to escape.

Emily in Paris Season 5 appears to be setting up a story that may further confuse us about who Emily will ultimately choose to be with for good. The teaser could be hiding heartbreak, or it could be showing Emily’s effort to heal. Either way, it's going to be another interesting season. Lucas Bravo’s choice to stay quiet feels like part of the game.
