Fall came early at the Emmys 2025, which featured a heartwarming reunion of two Stars Hollow residents, Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) and Rory (Alexis Bledel). The Gilmore Girls stars presented the award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, which was won by Apple TV+'s The Studio (Erik Pedersen and Dessi Gomez).

Amy Sherman-Palladino's 2000 comedy series Gilmore Girls, which explores themes of friendship, family, and love, is now considered a cult classic drama. This mother-daughter reunion at the Emmys 2025 was just in time for the show's 25th anniversary on October 5.

This Gilmore Girls reunion was the highlight of the Emmys 2025

Enthusiastic Gilmore Girls fans tuned into the Emmys 2025 on CBS to see their favorite mother-daughter duo of Rory and Lorelai Gilmore reunite on the stage. The actresses were last seen together on-screen in Netflix's revival series Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life. The revival series saw a year in the lives of Rory, Lorelai, and other Stars Hollow characters.

Each episode of the series was designated to a particular season and ended with the shocking reveal of Rory's pregnancy. This cliffhanger keeps the avid Gilmore Girls fans up at night, as they wish for another revival series/movie. While there is no positive news on that front, the Emmys 2025 featured a delightful reunion between Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel.

The mother-daughter duo began their presentation of outstanding writing for a comedy series with a hilarious commentary on Gilmore Girls:

“25 years ago, a show called ‘Gilmore Girls’ premiered, and apparently took the season of fall hostage...'' Graham said

Bledel added:

“In spite of our autumnal dominance, ‘Gilmore was actually a very small show.”

While Gilmore Girls initially started as a small production, it is now a staple fall classic on Netflix. The actresses then went on to poke fun at the show's low-budget but good (and lengthy) scripts, which eventually kept them afloat.

While fans are still waiting for news on another revival series, a documentary titled 'Searching for Stars Hollow' is scheduled for an October 2025 release. Big wins at the Emmys 2025

The Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, California, witnessed the biggest night of entertainment as comedian Nate Bargatze hosted the 2025 Emmys.

The award ceremony was a big hit for Apple TV+, whose freshman comedy series The Studio bagged 13 Emmys. The Seth Rogen-starring comedy series smashed FX's The Bear's record for the most Emmy wins in a single season. The Studio dominated the comedy category with its final win, the Outstanding Comedy Series award. In addition, the comedy series also featured an acting win for Rogen, Best Directing, and Best Writing.

While Apple TV dominated the comedy category at the 2025 Emmys, Netflix won big in the limited series category with its 2025 breakout hit Adolescence. This Stephen Graham-created psychological drama series took home six Emmy Awards, including the Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series Award. In addition to acting wins for Graham and Erin Doherty, 15-year-old Owen Cooper also nabbed his first-ever Emmy, becoming the youngest Emmy winner.
