"Enter into the Taylor Sheridan world": Edie Falco shares why she said yes to her Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 role

Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 actors Edie Falco and Jeremy Renner sat down for an interview with CBS Mornings on October 22, 2025, to promote the upcoming season. In the seven-minute segment, the two actors discussed the upcoming season of the popular and acclaimed gritty Taylor Sheridan series and the experience of working on it.

They played a small clip from the upcoming season featuring Renner and Falco's characters engaged in a tense exchange. After that clip, the reporters praised the actors' performances and asked Edie Falco about her reason for joining the ever-growing cast of Mayor of Kingstown Season 4. To this, the actress responded:

"I very much wanted to kind of enter into the Taylor Sheridan world... I mean, he's got he's figured something out because people watch his shows. And I you know, I want it in. And working with Jeremy, of whom I am a fan."

Who is Edie Falco playing in Mayor of Kingstown Season 4?

Edie Falco is playing the new warden of a prison, Nina Hobbs, in Mayor of Kingstown Season 4. It seems that Hobbs is set to be one of Mike McLusky's opponents in the fourth season. She is the warden of the prison where Mike's brother Kyle is imprisoned. It seems that she doesn't think that highly of Mike either.

Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 is set to challenge Mike in a big way as he faces new threats to his reign. The official logline for the season reads:

“Mike’s control over Kingstown is threatened as new players compete to fill the power vacuum left in the Russians’ wake, compelling him to confront the resulting gang war and stop them from swallowing the town. Meanwhile, with those he loves in more danger than ever before, Mike must contend with a headstrong new warden to protect his own while grappling with demons from his past.”

What does Nina Hobbs add to season 4?

The makers of the series scheduled a red carpet premiere for the upcoming fourth season. At the red carpet premiere, the cast and crew of the series were interviewed by several online entertainment portals. One of these interviews was between ScreenRant and Jeremy Renner and Edie Falco. Renner and Falco teased what we can expect from the upcoming season. Jeremy Renner was the first to speak:

"You see it right in the very beginning. And it's what kicks off this amazing dynamic of two foes. But you always want to imagine, too, could they be on the same side? It starts off with a giant hill to climb, with Nina coming in. She's the new warden. And you see this greatest sort of vulnerability having his cop brother in prison, and he can't protect him, and that's the only thing he's got to do in his life right now, is that, and he can't. He's completely handcuffed because of Hobbs, the new warden."

Then, Edie Falco, referring to Renner's character, said:

"He's the mayor, which means he kind of runs things, and people don't challenge him. They know he's the guy that you go to when you need things done. And I guess it didn't occur to me quite fully while shooting it that that's exactly what Nina is, someone who is kind of put in place to cut him off at the knees a little bit."
