HBO has finally set a release window for Euphoria Season 3 and the popular psychological teen drama will return to your screens in April 2026. This news comes almost three years after the sophomore season wrapped in February 2022. Since then, fans have been waiting for Rue (Zendaya) and her classmates to return for a new adventure filled with exciting turns and more twists.

American filmmaker and actor Sam Levinson is back as writer, director and executive producer on Euphoria Season 3. The series, which is brought to you by A24, follows a bunch of high schoolers in the fictional town of East Highland, California, as they navigate love, friendship and heartbreak.

The filming for Euphoria Season 3 began back in February 2025 in LA and wrapped in November 2025. A month later, HBO has finally confirmed that the third and (likely) the final season will return in April 2026.

More on this in our story.

Who is in the Euphoria Season 3 cast?

The third season of Euphoria will mark Zendaya's return as her Emmy-winning character Rue, a troubled teen and dr*g addict who struggles to get sober and find hope in this corrupt world. After spending two seasons with Rue, actress Zendaya is excited for fans to witness her journey to sobriety and self-exploration.

Additionally, fan favorites Sydney Sweeney (The White Lotus) and Jacob Elordi (Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein) will return as their respective characters, Cassie and Nate. Series regulars Hunter Schafer, Eric Dane, Maude Apatow and Alexa Demie will also return in the third season.

Additional returning cast from previous seasons also include Alanna Ubach, Daeg Faerch, Dominic Fike, Melvin Bonez Estes, Nika King, Paula Marshall, Sophia Rose Wilson, and Zak Steiner. Colman Domingo will also reprise his Ali Muhammed character in Season 3 in a guest capacity.

According to Deadline, Euphoria Season 3 has also added many new faces, namely Spanish singer Rosalía, Kadeem Hardison, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Toby Wallace, Priscilla Delgado and Anna Van Patten.

Euphoria Season 3 will feature a time jump

While plot details for the third season are being kept under wraps for now, Euphoria Season 3 will reportedly pick up after a major time jump (of five years). Naturally, Rue and her classmates will no longer be in high school and will try to find their places in the world as adults.

In an exclusive interview with Variety, Levinson confirmed the time jump as:

“Five years felt like a natural place because if they’d gone to college, they’d be out of college at that time. We basically pick up Rue south of the border in Mexico, in debt to Laurie, trying to come up with some very innovative ways to pay it off.”

With its 2019 debut, Euphoria became a sensational teen hit and was especially praised for its exceptional cinematography and cast performances. It also became the 4th most-watched series on HBO, only behind Game of Thrones, The Last of Us and House of the Dragon.

Euphoria Season 3 will return on HBO in April 2026.
