FBI Season 8 Episode 7 preview teases that Isobel Castille will finally pick her successor

It's time for Special Agent in Charge Isobel Castille (Alana de la Garza) to finally name her successor in FBI Season 8 Episode 7 'Fadeaway'. While Isobel has filled in Dana Mosier's shoes as the team supervisor after her departure impressively, she has accepted a new position as Assistant Director in Charge. This leaves her SAC position empty and Jeremy Sisto's ASAC Jubal Valentine is the perfect candidate to fill it.

The official logline for the upcoming episode reads as follows:

'When a large-scale explosion rocks a Brooklyn apartment complex, the team quickly locates the perpetrator and discovers he's acting on the orders of a convicted felon currently serving time; Isobel must name her successor.'

While Jubal has proven his skills by working out of the New York City field office and guiding the team at every step, it remains to be seen whether he will get the fruits of that labour in FBI Season 8 Episode 7.

FBI Season 8 Episode 7: The team will finally have a new supervisor

Ever since the Season 7 finale explosion, which left Isobel's fate hanging in the balance, the team has been searching for their next supervisor. While Isobel pulled through the surgery and recovered after the explosion in FBI Season 8, she was promoted to Assistant Director in Charge, leaving her SAC position up for grabs. The team was grateful for Isobel's speedy recovery and a new direction in her career, but they surely need a SAC to take charge of things.

While this role was temporarily filled by Jubal Valentine in Isobel's absence, it's finally time for the former SAC to name her replacement in FBI Season 8.

The latest season has put off this topic for quite a long time, but the synopsis for the upcoming episode titled 'Fadeaway' suggests that Isobel will finally name her successor.

Will Jubal Valentine become Isobel's successor?

With Jubal impressively filling Isobel's shoes in her absence, the SAC position should go to him but an exclusive report by Collider suggests that this will not be the case in the upcoming episode of FBI Season 8. Throughout the latest season's premiere, Jubal has openly expressed his desire to take on Isobel's position and move up the chain of command. Even when the higher-ups were against Jubal and did not approve of him stepping up for the temporary spot, he handled the team and his additional duties well.

Additionally, this new career move in FBI Season 8 feels like the perfect opportunity for Jubal to redeem himself in front of the higher-ups after his recent error in judgment and misuse of authority to get his son out of prison. While Jubal feels like the perfect candidate to take on this role, Isobel will reportedly name a different successor after succumbing to pressure from the higher-ups.

Collider also reported that to make matters worse, AD Leo Ropac will break this sad news to Jubal insensitively and in haste in FBI Season 8 Episode 7, which is bound to hamper Isobel's relationship with her ASAC. While Isobel would have wanted to handle the situation on her own and convey these unlikely turn of events to Jubal herself, Ropac's intervention will escalate this situation.

The changing dynamics between Isobel and Juabl will surely bring office drama in FBI Season 8 Episode 7, as the team prepares for another harrowing case.
