More about Pluribus and Vince Gilligan
Apple TV+ has released the first trailer for Pluribus, a new science fiction drama developed by Vince Gilligan, the award-winning writer, and producer of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. The series will begin internationally on November 7, 2025, with two episodes accessible at launch and subsequent episodes released weekly until December 26.
Many people consider Vince Gilligan to be one of the best storytellers on television and he became well-known for producing the ground-breaking criminal thriller Breaking Bad. It won several Emmy Awards and received positive reviews.
Additionally, he was the creator and showrunner of Better Call Saul, the show's popular prequel, and prior to these successes, Gilligan co-created The Lone Gunmen, the spin-off of the popular science fiction series The X-Files. He also served as a writer and producer on the show. He continues to explore his career's hallmarks of intriguing storytelling and great character development in Pluribus.
Rhea Seehorn, a two-time Emmy nominee who starred as Kim Wexler in Better Call Saul, is the star of the new program. Seehorn plays Carol in Pluribus, who is supposed to be "the most miserable person on Earth" and tasked with defending the planet from joy. This odd and intriguing concept points to a book that blends aspects of science fiction, drama, and dark comedy.
The mysterious tone of Pluribus is hinted at in the teaser. There, a woman wearing pink scrubs is shown eating donuts. She puts them back in a "Help yourself" box with the words, "Happiness is contagious." The series' eerie and surreal elements are hinted at in this arresting image. This primarily marks a change in direction for Gilligan after his work on crime dramas.
The series will feature cameos by Samba Schutte and Miriam Shor from American Fiction. Notably, Pluribus has already been renewed for a second season by Apple TV+, demonstrating their strong belief in the program's potential.
The story's first episode, which depicts a sudden and significant shift to the planet, sets the stage for dramatic developments throughout the season. Pluribus, produced by Sony Pictures Television, stars Jeff Frost, Gordon Smith, Alison Tatlock, Diane Mercer, and Allyce Ozarski, with Gilligan serving as executive producer.
Co-executive producers are Trina Siopy and Jenn Carroll. Pluribus is poised to make a substantial contribution to Apple TV+'s repertoire this autumn, owing to its novel idea and brilliant creative team.
