Nine years after its premiere, the Tom Hiddleston starrer The Night Manager, after a long and grueling wait, has finally returned with the first trailer for the second season. The teaser finds the sleek and charming Tom Hiddleston’s Jonathan Pine back at his daring, action-packed missions. However, the pressure on him, the chances of explosion, and the stakes are higher than ever.
The trailer is structured as Hiddleston's Pine in an interview-esque session, where he's being questioned about his emotional state in hopes of preventing an outburst or an explosion of sorts. Jonathan, self-assured as ever, replies:

Tom Hiddleston starrer The Night Manager Season 2 reveals its first trailer
After nine very long years, the audience finds Jonathan Pine in the most unlikely of places in the BBC teaser: a therapy-esque conversation, being told:
"A lot of intelligence officers come through this room. They sit there and they smile just like you. The ones I really worry about say nothing and then one day they explode. Tell me who you really are."
Along with this, a barrage of scenes plays one after the other, taking us right back into the luxurious and dangerous world of The Night Manager. Hiddleston’s Jonathan is right in the middle of the action and explosions.
Jonathan's action-packed time in the teaser stands in contrast to his hopes for himself. After the events of Season 1, Pine finds himself living under the alias of Alex Goodwin, a low-level MI6 officer running a quiet surveillance unit in London. It is the most uneventful and comfortable position that an MI6 officer could hold.
However, it isn't long before Pine chances upon something that changes everything. An old Roper mercenary disrupts his uneventful and comfortable life under the alias. This lands Pine right in the middle of the explosions and violence we see in The Night Manager Season 2 teaser. Pine finds himself trying to infiltrate a Colombian businessman, Teddy Dos Santos' arms operation, with the help of Roxana Bolaños, played by Camilla Morrone.
Once Jonathan lands in Colombia, however, all bets and promises are up in the air, and he's racing against time to protect a country. The game of betrayal and trust is constant, and only time will tell if Pine wins in the end.

Along with Hiddleston, Olivia Colman also returns as Angela Burr, along with Douglas Hodge, Alistair Petrie, Michael Nardone, and Noah Jupe. Paul Chahidi, Indira Verma, and Hayley Squires are joining the returning cast. Creator and executive producer David Farr is expected to expand on the story by John le Carré in the second season.
