Sam Claflin plays the role of Joel Lazarus in the Prime Video series by Harlan Coben

The trailer shows Sam Claflin as Joel Lazarus interacting with a patient in a psychiatric hospital. The patient comes up to Lazarus and tells him that he is in conversation with God and has asked Him to punish Joel.

Soon after, Lazarus is presented with the news that his father, Dr. Jonathan Lazarus (whose character has been portrayed by Billy Nighy), has committed suicide. However, when Joel goes back home, he is presented with a strange series of events, which ultimately makes him suspicious about the events surrounding his father's mysterious death.

As he delves deeper into the incident, he finds himself deep into a bunch of cold cases, including the murder of his sister 25 years ago, which he believes has something to do with his father's recent passing. Moreover, Lazarus is seen having visions of his father, which help to progress his attempt at solving the mysterious case.

Aside from Sam Claflin and Billy Nighy in leading roles, the series also features several other actors in important roles, like Alexandra Roach as Jenna Lazarus, Karla Crome as Bella Catton, David Fynn as Seth McGovern, and Kate Ashfield as Detective Alison Brown.

The six-episode series will be available to stream on Prime Video, and all episodes will be available to stream starting October 22.

Aside from his portrayal of Joel Lazarus in the series, Sam Claflin of Peaky Blinders fame has had a rather busy year this time. Earlier this year, he starred in The Count of Monte Cristo, and later this year, after the release of Lazarus, he is all set to star in Vanished, a mystery series where he will appear alongside The Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco.
