Martha Stewart, the Yes, Chef! judge, is as bougie as one can get; however, when it comes to a dish that she can eat every day, the internet personality has a simple taste. This is completely different from what her fans might assume when they think of Martha's favorite dish.
And honestly, who can blame them? She has upscaled every simple dish that she has laid her hands on, such as whipped cream with quince syrup and meal preps that are out of reach of an ordinary person, but as soon as she revealed her all-time favorite meal, everyone was shocked.
Don't get us wrong, this meal is still very expensive; however, the difference lies in its simpler elements and taste, plus it is not something you would expect from a world-famous culinary expert, like Martha Stewart, on your first try.
And the dish is: raw fish. Yes, you've read that right. But be prepared because it comes with a bougie twist of caviar. Martha, while talking to People magazine, said,
"I could eat probably a fish tartare every day with a little dab of caviar on it. And I would probably change the fish from day to day, like between fluke and flounder and tuna and hake. Anything ultra fresh. That would be very good."
Yes, Chef! Judge Martha Stewart talks about her favorite menu items
Yes, Chef! Judge Martha Stewart recently attended the launch of Resy's Dream Team Dinners, where she brought them fresh ingredients from her garden to kick off the dinner.
During the event, she also talked about her experience on the NBC show Yes, Chef! Martha said that she loves being unpredictable and loves dealing with the chefs in new ways. She expressed,
"I've always been totally kind of open, and I'm not a reserved person. I am circumspect, I hope, but I'm not reserved. And that show is meant to be fun and kind of wild, and you're dealing with wild people. So you might as well serve it back to them!"
Martha has her ways when it comes to judging the food on Yes, Chef! She feels a lot can be determined about the skill of a contestant who is up on the competition based on how well they pair their food items with each other. It is because a lot of thinking goes behind it, and one needs to have deep knowledge of the taste and texture of the ingredients. She said,
"You need pure talent and knowledge of food. I mean, gosh, I mean, I know all the best chefs in the entire world by now, I think. And they all have great knowledge, great ingenuity, and a very fabulous ability to put ingredients together in the nicest possible way."
Talking about her co-judge Jose Andres, Martha said that one time, he had whipped them up a dish which was paired with completely random ingredients that you won't normally see, but it tasted excellent. According to her, this is what makes a chef great.
Yes, Chef! drops new episodes weekly on Mondays at 10 PM Eastern Time on NBC. These installments are later available to watch on Peacock the next day.
