The MCU's Jessica Jones/Power Woman just received a massive update on June 21, 2025. Rumors are circulating on the internet that Marvel is considering reviving another acclaimed Netflix Marvel show after Daredevil: Born Again. The series that Marvel is considering to revive is Jessica Jones, which was canceled after its third season in 2019 on Netflix.

We know that Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones features in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, so Matt's army has received a huge leg up in the fight against Wilson Fisk. So, it won't be surprising if Power Woman also returns to the screens, but this time on Disney+. It should be noted that, like Daredevil, Jessica Jones was popular and acclaimed enough to get three seasons on Netflix.

Is Jessica Jones getting revived on Disney+?

While Ritter's return in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is officially confirmed, it is important to note that Marvel has not greenlit a solo Jessica Jones revival as of now. But it won't be surprising if this rumor turned out to be true. A while ago, Jessica's return to the MCU itself looked impossible for a while. however, her return was officially confirmed on May 13, 2025, at the Disney panel in the Upfront event.

Ritter was present at that panel and she was announced her return in the MCU while sharing the stage with Charlie Cox. Expressing her happiness on returning as Jessica Jones, Ritter said:

“It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and ‘The Defenders’ and now joining the MCU. I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!”

Moreover, countless fans are theorizing that Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 might be a Defenders reunion featuring not only Ritter's Jessica, but also Mike Colter's Luke Cage and Finn Jones' Danny Rand/Iron Fist. Brad Winderbaum and showrunner Dario Scardapane's comments are the reason why many believe so.

Brad Winderbaum previously hinted at the possibility of the Defenders returning

Marvel executive Brad Winderbaum was the first to address the return of the Defenders during the promotional tour of Born Again Season 1. On one such tour, during a February 2025 interview, Winderbaum confirmed that Marvel was indeed ideating a revival of other Netflix Marvel shows and The Defenders. The Marvel executive's exact words were:

“I can't say much, but I'll tell you that it's so exciting to be able to play in that sandbox. Obviously we don't have the unlimited storytelling resources like a comic book. If you can draw it, you can do it. It's dealing with actors and time and the massive scale of production in order to build a cinematic universe, especially on television. But I can just say that all those variables taken into account, it is certainly something that is creatively extremely exciting and that we are very much exploring."

Born Again showrunner Dario Scardapane also revealed in an Entertainment Weekly interview that the writers were thinking of Jessica, Luke, and Danny while writing the closing minutes of the Season 1 finale in April 2025. A month later, Krysten Ritter was officially confirmed, having fans hopeful that Luke Cage and Iron Fist would be confirmed soon.
